I don’t get what the hysteria is all about here. This was a win tonight on balance. I hear the word Pyrrhic thrown around for the Dems maybe taking a 3-5 seat lead in the House. For any of you bedwetters out there who daydreamed about sleeping with the middle school, head cheerleader in 8th-grade civics instead of listening. Bills have to be voted on by the Senate also and signed by the President. So what do any of you with a working frontal cortex think endless investigations and screeching on the House floor is a sure winner in 2020. Really? The Democrats blew their wad tonight, their hatred of trump and a motivated base and all they can come up with is less than usual midterm party flip? RBG will die the next year and Trump will get another conservative on the Court. 2020 will be a very good year and what he got done in 2 years in reference to taxes and regulation will pay dividends. Cheer up lad and lasses, you win some, you lose some and some you lose by a little.

The Dems aren’t wise enough to dial it back. They will harm themselves if they take the House.

I don’t see it as a sure thing yet.

(Nods.)
Sage wisdom: the Dems were *desperate* for anything they’d be able to call a win.
But all of their highest visibility challengers and candidates,*lost* (except Manchin, who voted for Kavanaugh).
I hope Stabenow stumbles next...

You are correct that the Senate can block socialist schemes hatched by the House. The flipside is that House can and will disrupt the Trump agenda.

I agree and expect some really good sound bytes from sanfrannan and madmaxine amongst others. They are insane.

waiting on buzzy’s funeral or exit by any other means.

For all the good the last house did. Well, Kevin Barely was the best they could field for ways and means?

I think supporters are frustrated. We never got the wall and we certainly won’t see anything on border security unless amnesty is involved, though I doubt the GOP Senate would go along with a deal like that. Expect more illegals to try and come through.

Also, I think many were expecting or hoping for something to come out of SpyGate that would hurt the Dems. Now with them in control, what will happen?

Now...could this motivate the Dems into thinking they have momentum for 2020?

Well said! I was hoping/dreaming for a total Red Wave to wipe out the Democraps, but with gains in the Senate and a virtual 50/50 situation in the House, POTUS Trump can still proceed effectively with MAGA. If anything, the ‘rats will be embarrassing themselves more than ever, with a megaphone but only very limited power. Their temptations to implode for 2020 will be strong indeed.
