Apparently, to him, Jewish people are bad because they took him in, gave him productive employment, and paid for his expensive private college, and that made him feel bad about himself.

Polite was charged with arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief — all as hate crimes — for setting fires at four other locations affiliated with the Jewish community, including another school. The police recognized Mr. Polite from the surveillance video at Union Temple.

I read that this guy was given a scholarship to Brandeis, an historically Jewish university founded in response to quotas on Jewish admissions at other universities, and was raised in part by a Jewish foster family. The Jewish community seemed to embrace him and he turned on them. I wonder what his excuse will be. I’m taking odds it will be some kind of cliche that deflects from his personal culpability.
I also read he was written about in the NYTimes as a “success story” who worked his way from orphanages and foster homes into some kind of wonder-kind.
