Why is it that so many conservatives believe that if a Constitutional Convention were held that WE would get our way on things? It could go the other way just as easily.

Because they are, for the most part, hopelessly naive. And it would go the other way almost at the outset.

Almost 10 years ago I wrote about this nutty idea and the likely outcomes. Back then things were saner ... one could only imagine the nuttery which would come out of such an event today.
