Fact check: Trump’s claim that Democrats let cop killer stay in U.S. is false
Sacramento Bee ^ | November 01, 2018 | Sam Stanton

President Trump’s closing argument for the midterm elections includes a tweet featuring convicted cop killer Luis Bracamontes, who killed two Sacramento-area deputies in a 2014 rampage.

The tweet features video of Bracamontes spewing profanities while on trial in Sacramento County Superior Court, a frequent occurrence in the years of court hearings he faced.

But the president’s claim that “Democrats let him into our country” is not entirely accurate, and neither is the claim that “Democrats let him stay.”

The Sacramento/Davis tumor is metasticizing slowly into the healthy areas of the surrounding conservative counties.
It’s clear the self-described “Progressive” movement is a most appropriate descriptor of the Democrat/Left.

The Bee is splitting hairs and ignoring the fact that the perp would not have gotten in without the liberal immigration policies favored by Democrats.

No it isn’t. This is they type of spin that snopes.com uses. I guess this POS is scheduled for deportation after he serves his life sentence. So since we are on the hook to send his coffin back to Mehico someday, we should say Trump’s statement isn’t entirely true.

The U.S. became a de facto sanctuary country under decades of terrible corrupt leadership who only aided and abetted this epic invasion. I say this based on the fact all major U.S. cities have significant numbers of illegals, regardless if they call them sanctuary cities or not.

“Fact Check” translation: opinion piece by the media to cover Dems when their policies inevitably go bad cloaked as “fact.” Synonym: Fake News.

But the president’s claim that “Democrats let him into our country” is not entirely accurate, and neither is the claim that “Democrats let him stay.”

Democrats are the party who are fighting for the "Dreamers" like this meth head killer of cops to stay and become citizens.

Republicans by and large are the party who want border control and deportation of illegals.

This is Trump's point and the Bee is stung by it's own Democrats policy.

If this was a cracker with an AR-15 the Bee would be saying the skinhead was "aided and abetted" by Republican policies.

Dallas Texas 2006, during war time, under Republican George Bush.

500,000 illegal aliens march on Dallas Texas pushing foreign flags in our faces and while making demands and threats. All while Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House each year...During war time.

What a contrast to a real leader like Trump!

It’s the only purpose sanctuary cities/states exist. Now they are denying it?

More McClatchy crocodile tears. Did they raise hell when Brown pardoned illegal aliens so they wouldn’t be deported?

This article implies that whoever is President at any given time, is totally responsible for any given case. Total nonsense. Same thing happens with economics. Except, of course, Obama taking credit for Trump’s good record.

“Not entirely true” is not the same as false

Yep. I noticed that, too. But what’s a little lie to the fake news?

"He apparently did not stay in Mexico long. Records in Arizona show he was arrested on drug charges again in Phoenix in 1998, then released “for reasons unknown” by Arpaio’s office. Arpaio is a Republican."

God forbid this reporter should follow up, and determine the disposition of his 1998 arrest. Was he sentenced to do time? Was he released by a judge? Was he released into the custody of the Border Patrol and deported? It's much easier for this numb nuts to say that Sheriff Arpaio who released him was a Republican, instead of actually doing any research to find out what really happened. The fact is that during all the years he came and went, nothing was done by the government to prevent him from coming back repeatedly, despite the fact that a wall had been authorized.

But the president’s claim that “Democrats let him into our country” is not entirely accurate, and neither is the claim that “Democrats let him stay.”

What kind of a "fact check" is this? So the Democrats actually support tougher border security and tougher laws against illegal immigration and have been blocked by Trump or Republicans from even proposing it and voting for it? The President isn't arguing they personally went down there and personally escorted him up - he's arguing the policies they support have resulted in this and must be changed to prevent it. Quite a plausible argument. It's difficult to tell if this "fact check" is just plain clueless and stupid or intentionally biased and misleading.

LOL!”Not entirely accurate” is code-word for “it’s all true but there’s a different nuance available” - ever since Clinton questioned what the meaning of “is” is....
