In Israel, it’s been various iterations of the Browning Hi-Power in 9mm, until two years ago they issued me a SIG Sauer P226. As I get out of security in Tel-Aviv, I go to the long term locker and pick it up. I have an older M4 at home in a gun safe. My daughters all got cool micro-Tavors.
In NYC (and NJ), I carry a Smith & Wesson .357, 7 shot, performance series, largely because it was much easier to get a carry license for a revolver.
When in NM, TX, NV, OK, or AZ (where I mainly work), I have purchased a SIG just to be consistent.
Ah. Thanks. I expected the Hi-Power ... it’s also my first (and favorite) pistol.

Years ago I bought a Hungarian FEG PJK-9HP because it was much cheaper than an FN Browning P-35, but the quality was nearly identical and the pattern was the pre-1973 version. Interchangeable parts, too.
Recently I learned that the Hungarian P-35 was used by Israel though more for police work. Don’t know if it was carried by IDF. Fine pistol of blued steel & wood, none of the plastic fantastic stuff.
