I have a cousin with a rare blood disorder. You usually don’t live past 40 (used to die as a kid before treatment came about) and usually can’t have kids.
A Jewish kid fell in love with her and married her knowing all this.
She’s Italian. Roman Catholic. As is the whole clan :)
She’s in her 40s now and they did have a child who is thriving.
I asked him once more than 20 years ago “You never thought twice about the fact that it could be a devastatingly hard life for you and that you likely won’t have kids?”
He said “I love her”
Crazy kid. With a heart of gold.
Still get a kick seeing her married last name on invitations and holiday cards :)
First extended family without a vowel at the end of the name!! :)

What a great, uplifting story!
Thank-you for posting.
(From one Italian guy to another).
I ain’t Eyetalyun, Katlik or kosher but that is one heartening story.
It’ll just tickle yer gizzard.
Bet there’s a lot of love in that house.
