Some odd phrasing from @SenDonnelly attempting to highlight the diversity of his staff:
"Our state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job
Followed up with: Our director of all constituent services, shes African American. But she does an even more incredible job than you could ever imagine.
“”Our state director is Indian American, BUT he does an amazing job”.
__________
This is blatantly racist, implying that most Indian Americans usually aren’t capable of doing an amazing job. With the use of the word “but” he has implied that he does a good job in spite of his being an Indian American.
Then again, it is OK for Democrats to be racists. We see this every day.
Meh.
i don’t want this Democrat to win. But this is bottom feeding.
LOL - that really is insulting...
The Democrats live and die with racial identity politics. This is hilarious to see Billy Joe Donnelly take heat over this!
Replace the word “but” with the word “and”; changes the perceived meaning from “it’s surprising they can do it” to “we always knew they could”.
Indian-American? Which type? “WAH WAH” Indian? Or owns a 7-11 type Indian? OR Indian motorcycle perhaps?!?
A guy like that has public relations written all over him.
Ha. Washington Post picked up the story.
Hope we flip the seat.
I don’t know, it is Hossiers doing the voting.
Actually any observations based on skin color are racist in nature. The left does not get that at all. We look at a black man and see a man. They just see black and wonder how can they manipulate him to their advantage.
These people opened up a can of worms. Couldn’t happen to a more tolerant bunch.
I have already voted and it wasn’t for him!!!!! Red Tsunami is coming next Tuesday
Once again, if a Republican candidate had said this it would be a major national news story with microphones being shoved in the faces of every Republican candidate demanding to know if they agreed with the remarks, why haven’t you denounced them yet, etc. A Democrat? Crickets.
Exactly - it would be a major national news story with every Republican in the country being associated with it by now if Donnelly was a Republican.
Yep. Tucker had it tonight on his show.
Donnelly left out a sentence about his Afro-American staffer, which was. “And she makes great fried chicken for the staff”.
Wellllll, he could have meant to say that but realized what a ahole he just was and shut up.
I mean, if Old Lunch Bucket Joe can call a black man “clean and articulate”, ask a disabled men to “Stand up, Chuck”, and lie about half his life, why can’t Donnelly just talk honestly about how he feels about his staff?
Remember, they are Democrats and never let an honest truth (aka gaff) mean anything to them.
I’ve been working with African-American women for over 17 years in one section of a major government agency and they have always done “incredible jobs” but we don’t view it that way, and neither do they.
We all view it as just doing our best, every day, and not expecting anyone to say that it was “an even more incredible job than you could ever imagine.”
That would be a horrible insult to their hard work at getting an education (often very advanced), mstering skills that I can hardly do, and being great friends and colleagues.
Looks like Donnelly will “use” minorities but he doesn’t understand that they are just like all good Americans.
Respect is color blind.
Those that ARE qualified and capable are denigrated by the forced promotion of those that aren't.
