FedEx cuts ties with NRA

FedEx has cut ties with the National Rifle Association, eight months after it first received calls to do so.

The shipping company confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday that it is ending its partnership, which offered discounts to members of the gun-rights lobby group.

The move comes days after 11 people were killed in a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. FedEx, however, told Reuters that its decision to end the discount program was unrelated to the shooting, citing business reasons for the move.

FedEx was one of several companies that faced pressure earlier this year to end partnerships with the NRA, following February's mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

Several companies, including airlines, car rental companies and banks, ended their discount programs for NRA members, but FedEx said it would not “deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views.”

American corporations could not get anymore PC if they tried. UPS spends a fortune supporting liberal groups.

Is it me, or are Fed Ex drivers among the most reckless a-holes on the road. If I had a dollar for every near miss with those idiots... Years ago, while riding with my daughter she was pulled.over for.supposedly cutting off A Fed Ex truck. The cop immediately changed his attitude when my lovely daughter pointed out that she witnessed him screaming into his cell phone while driving. I asked the officer if they drug test their employees? And the cop nodded, agreeing with me.

"So they can afford to irritate 5 million people? Well, OK, then."

The 5 million is the ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP of the NRA. The general rule of thumb is that for every active member of an organization, they express the wishes of 10 others who are not members, but believe in the same thing(s).

So they are actually pissing off FIFTY million people.

Let’s see. I sent a pistol in once to get repaired. When it was fixed, they sent it back to me Fed Ex Air express with the instruction the package must be signed for. They just left the package lying by my front door. Didn’t get a signature, ring the door bell or call to let us know it was delivered.

I have a feeling over 99% of the members never heard of the discount. I bet the discount is around 10 to 20 percent, you can get a 20 percent discount just by opening up an account with FedEx. I get a way bigger discount, so big, I can’t really discuss it.
