The leaders of the first migrant caravan slowly making its way through southern Mexico are demanding the country's government provide vehicles to help its 4,000 participants reach Mexico City.
Exhausted from the long journey on foot and frustrated by the caravan's slow pace, some migrants have been dropping out and returning home or applying for protected status in Mexico.
Aware of the low morale, the group's representatives demanded 'safe and dignified' transportation to the capital Monday after the group arrived in the Oaxaca state town of Niltepec.
The Mexican government has shown no inclination to comply with the caravan's demands, however, with the exception of its migrant protection agency giving some of the group's stragglers rides to the next town over the weekend.
Pueblo Sin Fronteras, a group supporting the caravan, has said it hopes to hold meetings in Mexico City with federal lawmakers and authorities as well as representatives of the incoming government to discuss migrants' rights and the caravan's future.

Put blackface on a few of them.
The left would claim this is sunscreen to protect them from the sun caused by man-made global warming which they blame on Trump.
can’t get to USA by election day without vehicles in broad daylight or cloak of night.
Gimmie gimmie gimmie, ‘cause my name is Jimmy...or Jaime...
Not Trump’s problem.
Fine as long as they all just stay the hell out of the USA... 👍🇺🇸🙏
Mexico City is North. They just want a ride north. If they stop and give up before getting there, there would be no more caravans. Let them go home and tell everyone how hard it was.
So what, they're surprised by the lethargic nature of Latin American culture?
The FOURTH horde is just forming now.

NPR-October 30, 2018 -CARRIE KAHN
Those migrants who didn’t join the caravan say they hope to catch up or start a new one. They say poverty and violence at home leave them no other option.
They must think Obama is still president.
Niltepec, Oaxaca is about 200 miles from the Guatemalan boarder, and about 650 miles from the nearest US border crossing point at Brownsville, TX.
It’s about 350 miles from Mexico City.
“Thats a long walk. You already getting upset now, just in Oaxaca? lololol.”
Yeah, just looked at Mapquest. It’s 2007 miles from Oaxaca to Tijuana. So I think the good news is that if they ever get to the border, it will be well beyond next Tuesday. Soros better get busy lining up busses.
This is good news. They were probably counting on Mexico to give them support. They will never be here by Tuesday.
What a CIVILIZED group of young educated men!!
It's a damned conveyor belt!!
I saw a big line of buses and the caravan people lined up to board today.
I thought they claimed this was not organized, but now this article admitted the leader is Pueblo sin Fronteras, a Soros funded group. I thought the media claims that is a lie when Trump says it?
Nothing undignified about walking.
demanding of whom, exactly?
They are just yearning to get free stuff.
They need to emphasize their positive adventure and Just QUIT:
1. Weight Loss- Many of them likely have dropped 10-15 pounds of excess fat.

“I Caravanned 2018, and All I got from TRUMP was this Lousy T-shirt!”
3. Free Clothing, Free Food & beverage along the way.
4. Free Vacation- They got to experience the back roads of Mexico.
A picture of socialism. It starts out as a fun walk, and goes down from there.
