The mayor of Pittsburgh suggested that President Trump choose a different time to visit the city rather than the day of the first of 11 funerals for the victims of the synagogue shooting.
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto (D) told CNNs Anderson Cooper on Monday that he tried to tell the White House they the city's priority on Tuesday will be the first funeral not Trumps visit.
I do believe that it would be best to put the attention on the families this week and if he were to visit choose a different time to be able to do it, Peduto said. Our focus as a city will be on the families and the outreach they will need this week and the support theyll need to get through it.
The president and first lady Melania Trump are scheduled to travel to Pennsylvania on Tuesday in the wake of Saturdays mass shooting at Tree of Life synagogue.
Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday night that he was going to pay his respects.
Im also going to the hospital to see the officers and some of the people that were so badly hurt, Trump said. I really look forward to going. I would have done it even sooner, but I didnt want to disrupt anymore than they already had disruption.
His visit to the city has been meet with some backlash. A group of progressive Jewish leaders penned an open letter on Sunday telling the president he is not welcome until he denounces white nationalism.
More than 57,000 people have signed a petition as of Monday night from the group, the Pittsburgh affiliate of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, telling Trump he's not welcome in the city.
The Tree of Life synagogue's rabbi, however, said that Trump is always welcome.
Im a citizen. He's my president. He is certainly welcome, Rabbi Jeffrey Myers said Monday.
Eleven congregants were killed on Saturday after a gunman opened fire, allegedly yelling, All Jews must die.
The Anti-Defamation League said the shooting was likely the deadliest attack on Jewish people in U.S. history.
The accused perpetrator is in custody and has been charged with 29 counts, including multiple hate crimes.
If Trump does go, he'll be accused of exploiting the tragedy for his own benefit.
Once you understand how the left attacks you either way, you can free your mind of their petty manipulation - in which they exploit tragedies for their own benefit.
and cancel their block grants
This is the guy who brought up gun control at the first press conference....
If President Trump was a Democratic president the mayor of Pittsburgh would’ve planned a massive March through downtown where they walked with arms locked together like they did for the Charlie Hedebo massacre in Paris with Obama.
This mayor is just another democrat turd. If it was Obama, he would be welcoming him with open arms.

...told CNNs Anderson Cooper...
so easy to get on the FakeNewsMSM. just dump on the President.
>>Had Trump said he wasn’t going the left would be screaming, ‘Trump doesn’t care about the victims’.
they were already shouting that last week on socialist networking media sites
Barack Obama toasted a man tied to Islamic terrorism but we still don’t have the video because the LA Times says it happened at a private event.
Why is the Los Angeles Times sitting on a videotape of the 2003 farewell bash in Chicago at which Barack Obama lavished praise on the guest of honor, Rashid Khalidi former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat?
At the time Khalidi, a PLO adviser turned University of Chicago professor, was headed east to Columbia. There he would take over the Universitys Middle East-studies program (which he has since maintained as a bubbling cauldron of anti-Semitism) and assume the professorship endowed in honor of Edward Sayyid, another notorious terror apologist.
The party featured encomiums by many of Khalidis allies, colleagues, and friends, including Barack Obama, then an Illinois state senator, and Bill Ayers, the terrorist turned education professor. It was sponsored by the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), which had been founded by Khalidi and his wife, Mona, formerly a top English translator for Arafats press agency.
Is there just a teeny-weenie chance that this was an evening of Israel-bashing Obama would find very difficult to explain? Could it be that the Times, a pillar of the Obamedia, is covering for its guy?...
“[T]he warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professors going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say. Their belief is not drawn from Obamas speeches or campaign literature, but from comments that some say Obama made in private and from his association with the Palestinian American community in his hometown of Chicago, including his presence at events where anger at Israeli and U.S. Middle East policy was freely expressed... In interviews with The Times, Khalidi declined to discuss specifics of private talks over the years with Obama. He did not begrudge his friend for being out of touch, or for focusing more these days on his support for Israel a stance that Khalidi calls a requirement to win a national election in the U.S., just as wooing Chicagos large Arab American community was important for winning local elections...”
Why should Trump denounce something he never avowed?
Democrat’s priority is hate.
Democrats are scumbags who only survive with their atrocious behavior because “reporters” are - democrats.
Im so glad you brought that one up, the “reporter” who taped it intentionally hid the tape, and admits hiding it from the public. It must be really bad.
No class, Mr. mayor.
Just shameful behavior of the left.
Obama was mentored for 20 years by a black nationalist bigot and palled with antisemites.
the muslim brotherhood aren’t known for being friends of Jews either.
I haven’t seen a group of Dems slobbering over themselves to try and gain political advantage from a tragedy since, oh I don’t know, about a week ago? POTUS is doing exactly what a President should do in this sort of situation - share his grief with the people. If this interferes with the Mayor’s agenda, one has to ask what his agenda is.
President Trump’s going to Pittsburg does put priority on the families. What a jerk this mayor is. . . .trying to get himself in the limelight and stirring up trouble.
