"Soybeans? Hmmm, seems to me it’s Brazil that has China over a barrel."

Didn't the ChiComs want to screw us by replacing US soybeans with Brazilian ones?

If those Chinese hogs starve to death due to lack of feed from either the US or Brazil, the hungry Chinamen may be putting their leaders in the wok.

Yep. They were planning to replace a lot of our ag products from Brazil, though it was speculated that Brazil would be an intermediary for our products. There’s only so much they can grow.

Anyway, it’s win-win for us and Brazil, keeping prices up for China.
The article I linked to said China’s cutting it’s protein requirement for feed. Just a per cebt or so, wish I had the knowledge to know if that would make a difference in quality.

It's not just soybeans, China is dependent on importing food supplies from all over the planet. Especially meat, their dependence on livestock production from overseas dwarfs all other countries combined. They don't have enough arable land suitable for farming. Cut the imports from the USA and Brazil, and China has a huge problem trying to feed their populace.
