I had to look it up, as I’ve never heard of the Junior League. Why is it called that when it’s a women’s organization, and did they deliberately choose Maiden Lane as their address?

I have never figured out exactly what the Junior League does. My Mother was a member but despised it.
It was always a organization of Society Types trying to climb the Social Ladder. In other words a joke.
It used to be Junior Leagues were society clubs for upper middle class and wealthy women. They would raise money for charity by holding holiday boutiques, selling cookbooks with their own recipes, etc. I never wanted to belong to a Junior League because there were too many snooty women that belonged.
Now the desperate FemiNazi Rats are trying to insert hateful politics into this women’s social group. They can go to h*ll.
