A lawyer representing the family of Cesar Sayoc Jr., the man who was charged with mailing explosive devices to several prominent Democratic figures, said Friday that Sayoc "found a father" in President Trump.
Miami lawyer Ronald Lowy made the comments while speaking on CNN, saying that Sayoc was somebody who seemed lost and needed help. When asked about Sayoc's alleged embrace of being a Native American, Lowy responded that it may have derived from his lack of an identity.
Well, he was clearly not Native-American," he said. "His father was Filipino and abandoned him as a child and his mother is Italian. And he adopted this claim to being a Seminole because he was trying to create an identity,
Lowy, who said earlier in the day that he's represented Sayoc in four criminal cases, later said that in his "laymans opinion," that this "manifested from his lack of a father and his desire for an identity. This was someone lost.
"He was looking for anything, and he found a father in Trump," he said, adding that he doesn't blame the president solely for these attempted attacks.
The Justice Department announced on Friday that it had arrested and charged Sayoc, a 58-year-old resident of Aventura, Fla., with five federal crimes for allegedly sending explosives to a rash of Democratic figures, such as former President Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton, and CNN's New York offices.
He faces up to 48 years in prison.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said during a press conference that the suspect in connection with the crimes appeared to be a "partisan." Many have seized on a white van that allegedly belonged to him that was draped in political stickers, including one that read, "CNN sucks."
The packages sent this week led to bipartisan calls to tone down what has become increasingly hostile political rhetoric in politics.
President Trump on Wednesday called for national unity in response to the incidents. But just a day later, he said "purposely false and inaccurate reporting" played a big factor in the political divisiveness.
He later accused the media at a rally in Charlotte on Friday of trying to use these events to "score political points" against him and the Republican Party.
Wait a minute, if he’s Italian, he could be a TV Cherokee.
Or an Arab.
Just call him Hiawatha.
Whatever his nationality is the MSM will be sure to put “white” in front of it and remind everyone he’s a Republican.
Maybe we should call him a "lone wolf" like they do all the muzzie terrorists.
Let's leave Barack Obama out of this.
Hey, my father died when I was one year old. And I don’t like Democrats. But that doesn’t cause me to send them bombs.
I’m waiting for the headline “FBI planted DNA evidence in the packages in order to frame wacko trump supporter”
I know that Trump issued a call to dial things back but what dhimmicrat has?
Looks like lawyer got paid well by DNC, too.
So many people, male and female, have tremendous personal issues from dealing with lack of a father figure in their lives.
Hey look at the entire Demokkkrat party, they all have issues related to the lack of a decent father figure in their lives.
Have you ever seen a white person with painted on hair like his? What gives? Is it shoe polish or a brush cut or just house paint?
Creepy Roid Rager Attorney
Ridiculous. Look at those high cheekbones. Clearly 1/1024 Seminole.
Ooof! Post of the day.
Seems like deja vu all over again, this crap and Balsey Fraud. Everything is just too convenient, too well played to be coincidental. The media and Mob are relying on conventional wisdom that no one could possibly question the legitimacy of this scenario. DJT will let things percolate for a while then highlight the inconsistencies we all see and proceed to bust this ploy as he did Ms. Frauds. This will backfire too. The Mob played their hand at least one week too early. If properly executed this would have happened days before the election so Trump wouldnt have time to react and rally. The GWB DUI hit piece on 11/3/2000 was timed perfectly.

...
It’s not partisan if it’s true.

...
What do they mean BUT? Fake news is biased and divisive.
CNN still sucks
