New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is holding onto a 22-point lead over Republican Marc Molinaro as the 2018 race for governor enters its final five weeks, according to a new poll made public Monday.
Cuomo, a two-term Democrat, leads Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, 50-28 percent, according to the Siena College poll of likely voters.
The governor also leads by wide margins over four other third-party candidates who will appear on the Nov. 6 ballot, the poll found. A combined 14 percent of likely voters said they will vote for one of the third-party candidates.

Sorry, the image there won’t copy but it gives the info about NYS county by county for the president, senate, and house.
The three third-party candidates, BTW, are Howie Hawkins (Green), Larry Sharpe (Libertarian), and Stephanie Miner (Serve America Movement).
Cuomo is on the Democratic, Independence, Working Families, and Women’s Equality Parties. Molinaro is on the Republican, Conservative, and Reform lines.
And if you vote for Sharpe, you can help the Libertarian Party get to 50,000 votes and thus be ballot qualified for four years.
Nixon vacated the Working Families nomination. She took a nomination for an assembly seat. the WFP gave the line to Cuomo-Hochul.
Miner is the former Mayor of Syracuse. If you vahe liberal Democrat friends, convince them that Miner is the pure one, not Cuomo.
NYC, Albany County, and Erie County are Democrat, and Nassau and Westchester lean that way. The rest of the state is red.
would urge the Nixon supporters to support Hawkins.
The Richmond County (Staten Island) part of NYC is red. Westchester is much deeper blue than Nassau.
As I was trying to say, drop the four deep blue counties in NYC and NYS would be a majority red state.
And don’t forget deep, deep blue Thompkins County (Cornell). I was just there last weekend. Ugh!
NYS needs to get the hell out and vote
I know.
Miner used to be mayor of Syracuse.
Rumor has it she’s a miserable person.
“...I’ll still up to vote against Thug Cuomo...”
Same.
“...deep blue Tompkins County (Cornell)...Ugh”
You have my sympathy ... Ithaca is nasty hippie valley.
Thank you very much for an alternative.
But the more votes she and Hawkins get, the more it hurts Cuomo.
High above Cayuga’s waters,
There’s an awful smell.
Some say it’s Cayuga’s waters.
We say it’s Cornell.
That’s the thing.
There are actually some well known candidates running against Cuomo on a more liberal party line.
I’m suspecting taht the R vote is not the only one getting split.
I think Cuomo is going to lose votes as well.
I am praying so hard that Gillibrand, Cuomo, and Stirpe get ousted, removed from office somehow, some way. God can do that.
On the bright side, judging by the support for Katko, he looks like a shoe in for the House for the republicans. He’s very well liked in this area and has been a good rep. His campaign signs are EVERYWHERE, even in Syracuse. So if he has enough support from the city, that added to the rural areas should give him the seat.
I can only reply:
Help Stop the Homo,
Vote Against Cuomo!
