Well, he can't come right out and say that a Dem operative did it.
The "bombs" (and the entire operation) are so amateurish that forensic evidence will quickly uncover the perp or perps. Unless the Fibbers manage to hush the whole thing up, somebody is probably going to have egg on his (or her) face . . . and Chuck is starting the back-pedaling process because he sees the writing on the wall.

Chuck Todd, is this your way to deflect the real source of these bombs? These bombs were made by DemonRAT operatives to smear Trump and, by guilt-by-association, smear every single Republican up for election. No way these DemonRATs were going to blow up a DemonRAT. That’s why they were made so they couldn’t go off. Russians would make bombs that would go off.
