Much of the recent transgender news has revolved around anticipated changes to Title IX language intended to restore a scientific basis to interpretations of the words sex and gender. But theres been another disturbing trend in the education community which bears keeping an eye on. At Redstate, Brandon Morse has a troubling report about the suppression of research work into the frequency of patients experiencing regret over having transitional surgery, seeking to have it undone and other emotional or psychological challenges they have encountered. And its an increasingly common phenomenon.
Sex change surgeries for people who suffer from gender dysphoria often lead to disastrous ends.
Those who undergo the surgeries are 19 times more likely to commit suicide after the procedure, and thats already on top of a 41 percent suicide rate for those who suffer from gender dysphoria as is.
Yet, despite our knowledge of these numbers, the scientific and medical communities are afraid to tackle the subject for fear of what it could cost them in terms of careers and reputations. In todays day and age, talking negatively about transgenderism in any capacity will result in the naysayer being labeled a societal pariah, guilty of bigotry and hatred towards the LGBT community.
There are already specific instances of this suppression of research being reported. As Morse points out, James Caspian, a psychotherapist at Bath Spa University in England, specializes in transgender medical issues and had been approved for a research project. It was designed to study incidents of detransitioning among those who had undergone surgery and the aftereffects. But after the ethics board reviewed the proposal, his study was canceled. The university cited fears of a backlash from the LGBT community and the transgender lobby.
This wasnt a case of a completed study being criticized. This was only a proposed study that was shut down out of fear over the social media and MSM response they would receive. Thats rather tragic, particularly when you consider the work of Doctor Miroslav Djordjevic in Serbia, who is cited in this report. Hes performed hundreds of surgeries intended to reverse the initial transgender surgery done to the patient and seen the results. The incidents of depression and suicidal tendencies are horrifying.
Unfortunately, whether were talking about politics or the educational system, this is a repeating theme. Any discussions of transgender issues, down to the language people use to talk about it, is shielded from any scientific analysis or questions. Bringing up basic medical science is considered bigoted and people raising such questions are labeled transphobic. But ifs the not the people asking the questions who are the ones paying the price. Its the patients who are egged on by the media and social justice warriors.
I see this as a Darwinian benefit.
New Yawk and Debbie Wasserman’s house aren’t the only places with “suspicious packages” all over the place.
....being labeled a societal pariah, guilty of bigotry and hatred towards the LGBT community.
I’m good with that.
Altering people’s genitals to try to make them appear to be the opposite sex is malpractice.
It is hard to even get hold of the statistics. THere are papers published that reference the very high suicide attempt rate, but a lot of times, if you go to the references, they have been deleted, especially if the references are on pro-LBGT websites.
They see how the facts are used, and realize they don’t want to let the facts get out.
I know a 13-14 year old girl driven across state lines to have a radical mastectomy. She thinks she’s a boy. Her parents are nuts.
She now still looks and acts exactly like a tiny little 90 lb. 12 year old girl - sans boobs.
Lord have mercy.
So long as that's the only thing being squashed ...

Confusing, because someone named "Jazz" is a transsexual on television, and this article appears to be critical of the transsexual thing.
This is actually by a different person. One of them should change their name.
The surgery is not reversible. You cannot go back to normal since you will only get the appearance of normal, not the functionality.
Oh, that is horrible. That poor child. How can people be so cruel and what kind of doctor would agree to do this?
Thai’s probably a good thing.
Her parents were going through an acrimonious divorce at the time.
As a child, she was quite intelligent, but somewhat "hyper."
Now she talks like a boy, with a spooky, low-pitch voice. I don't know if she's having hormone treatments, but it's possible.
That explains the gender confusion.
Is there any such animal as a non-acrimonious divorce when children are involved?
Evil has covered our country. The left has the more obviously severe problem. Liberality unmoored from the Lord has in many cases become modern secular liberalism.
The right can’t be anything, however, if it begins to trust in itself rather than in the Lord that has begun to elevate it. Political idols cannot deliver. The Lord can. It’s well and good to love winning, if we give the according glory to the Winner in Heaven. It is not, if it collapses into self exaltation. Conservatism would then find that it had only conserved an idol.
bkmk
science is political
Kinda like how in the 1980's, the health department shut down the bathhouses to stop the spread of/exposure to a.i.d.s. . The left opened them back up, labeled Republicans as bigots and quashed all scientific reports that identified the "vector" as men having sex with men.
Now the spread was all Reagan's fault for not doing anything.
I've heard of divorces where the parents try to minimize strain on the children and keep things on a friendly basis.
In this case, the parents were quite strange people, one a professor. I don't know the details except from what my daughter told me of their home environment. Very strange.
This girl has a sister who's almost 20 years older.
It’s a real shame. I hope they don’t carve her up to fulfill her absurd fantasy.
They live in a major city with dozens of well known hospitals but had to travel hundreds of miles to a neighboring state to get some one to perform the surgery.
Why is this not malpractice for an unnecessary surgery on a child?
The risks: death or paralysis from anesthesia, infection, removal of breast and surrounding tissue, permanent sterility from rounds of testosterone. Plus the unknown endocrine risk from a life long regime of hormones!!!
