NH allows trusts to claim prizes. Most states do not. She signed the ticket personally, then sued to have her trust collect it instead of her personally. That’s an unusual situation.

The places that sell these tickets have video, and the location, date and time are printed on the ticket, and their is a receipt in the register. That and vid are used to determine a lawful chain of ownership. Winners are known, but at least their names aren’t in the official news stories.

MMMmmm. I wondered what she had done differently. Thanks for the information!

I wonder if South Carolina has an Income Tax. I know North Carolina has a Property Tax. Or I seem to recall that from filling out tax forms from decades ago while I was active duty Air Force.
