Napoleon and the Germans were both thwarted in Russia by exceptionally cold winters. WW1 and WW2 were both influenced by weather. I think we have a shot of at least delaying and shrinking the Caravan.

I read once that one of the factors in the defeat of Germany in Russia, was that the German horses (still used for a LOT of their transport) would freeze to death at -18 F. The Russian horses, properly bundled up, would last until -54 F.

There was an anecdote about a German soldier, served soup boiling hot out of a company kettle, who misplaced his spoon. By the time he found it 30 sec later, the soup in his bowl was lukewarm; by the end of 2 or 3 minutes, what was left in the bowl was frozen solid.

Some of us have been talking about the hurricanes headed towards Mexico for at least 2 days now, on this site. You're a bit late to that "party".
