My solution:
Border is open to anyone who wants to apply for refuge or entry. Put the military on the border to shuttle migrants to staging areas where they can fill out paperwork. Use government workers who are nice and slow and can process one person every couple of hours. The rest will wear out and leave after a few weeks. Those that pass, get in. Those that don’t pass don’t get in. Business as usual, just slowly.

Reasonable. If Mexicans, Guatmalans and Hondurans see the hordes get thru, there would be no need for anybody to get a visa or work permit, or any document to enter the US legally.

Follow up with terminate all trade agreements with Mexico and sponsoring Central American countries.
These people are being used, and it would be a mistake of epic moral, not to mention political, proportions to harm them in any way. It will cost more to the right thing for them and us, but it’s beyond being justified. Fly them back to their host countries. Shame the leadership of those countries for failing their own citizens. Tell them that if their citizens are persecuted, they will pay the price.
