President Donald Trump said Saturday he will pull the United States from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty because Russia has violated the agreement, but he provided no details on the violations.
The 1987 pact, which helps protect the security of the U.S. and its allies in Europe and the Far East, prohibits the United States and Russia from possessing, producing or test-flying a ground-launched cruise missile with a range of 300 to 3,400 miles.
Russia has violated the agreement. They have been violating it for many years, Trump said after a rally in Elko, Nevada. And were not going to let them violate a nuclear agreement and go out and do weapons and were not allowed to.
The agreement has constrained the U.S. from developing new weapons, but America will begin developing them unless Russia and China agree not to possess or develop the weapons, Trump said. China is not currently party to the pact.

Finally, some common sense. I guess common sense isn’t so common to people like Schrub and DingleBarry.

Thus we can bring back the Pershing II ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pershing_II ) and the BGM-109 Gryphon ground launched cruise missiles we destroyed after the treaty ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BGM-109G_Ground_Launched_Cruise_Missile )
What about the short- and long-range nukes?
Why in the he11 do we trust the Russians/Soviets when they have violated EVERY treaty we ever signed with them? We use to have MANY tactical nuclear weapons, mines, SAMs, Anti sub weapons, and what did we get for this treaty? We obey it and they don’t. And now we are not competitive with the Russians. And they are developing hypersonics with thermonuclear options... Do we? (NO)
-Oh yea, Obama wanted an excuse with the treaty to dismantle our previously superior position to Russia, and put us behind in all things nuclear... He succeeded and now we are...
This DONUHUE skit nails the Gorbachev lovefest that went on back then, lol:

However, I don’t think they’ll be able to reactivate the unit that handled the P2, because most of the bases that those units were at in Germany no longer exist.
I was with that unit.
Their headquarters battery was located at a place called Bismarck kaserne. It was turned into a remote campus for the University of Maryland for a few years, but they have since closed it. I don’t think it could be set up to handle an army unit again.
The other bases were located at Hardt Kaserne in Schwaebisch Gmuend, another base in Neu Ulm, and another base in Heilbronn. I have no idea what happened to those bases. I’m not even really sure if the German government would let us set up the firing pads for those missiles again. Back in the 80s, we were welcomed there. Now, with their increasing migrant population, I don’t know that we’d be welcome, much less with Frau Merkel in charge.
Even worse for us since we have unilaterally compiled with them even though those treaties were null and void upon the termination of the Soviet Union.
You are quite right. Frau Merkel will not allow them back because her Russian masters don’t want it done. Yes, I think that she is still a communist at heart and could well be serving Putin and the FSB/KGB or GRU.
Finally - a President that won’t leave us handicapped by sticking to agreements while others break them with ill intent towards us...
It’s about time we built our nukes back up to useful levels.
