TECUN UMAN, Guatemala A standoff between thousands of Central American migrants trying to reach the United States and Mexican police stretched through the night with some migrants hanging from the closed border gate wailing "there are children here" while others slept on the crowded bridge linking Guatemala to Mexico.
But they were met Friday by a wall of police with riot shields on the Mexican side of the bridge. About 50 managed to push their way through before officers unleashed pepper spray and the rest retreated, joining the sea of humanity on the bridge.
Police and immigration agents began letting small groups of 10, 20 or 30 people through the gates if they wanted to apply for refugee status. Once they file a claim, they can go to a shelter to spend the night.
As night fell on the bridge, the migrants' frustration turned to despair as women clutching small children took up the rows in front of the gate pleading with the Mexican federal police. Some migrants yelled "We are hungry!" Others wailed that they had children while others set up tarps to prepare for the night sleeping on the increasingly dirty and befouled bridge.
A Mexican marine official with a loudspeaker approached the gate and told migrants they would be taken in trucks to "a humanitarian attention center" in Tapachula, a border city in the Mexican state of Chiapas. But the official did not say when this would happen.

Who fed you yesterday ? Go home.
What kind of mother takes her baby on a thousands of miles trip with no food and no diapers? Who did she think was going to provide her with these necessities?
Second question is rhetorical.
BS They made it that far, they are healthy enough to return on their own. This is drama for the media and bleeding hearts in the US.
It’s all drama.
I’m sure there are rats they could catch.
Send them home “Naked and Afraid”.
Who’s funding these little dog and pony shows ? This isn’t some spontaneous action.
This is making very little sense. If they are already supposedly completely out of resources how did they make that long of a trip to begin with, let alone how were they going to make the rest of it?
These people are being used - of course common sense tells you a caravan of this many people doesn’t just spontaneously appear and start moving on its own.
And those that are legitimately fleeing from the gangs and the liberals and the media saying it is only humane to give them refuge - yet the same liberals and media oppose measures that would prevent the same gangs from taking root here - and they are here. How is it humane to just bring people into the same situation they left? None of this “concern” is genuine.
If violence can drive them out of Honduras and send them marching all the way to the U.S., I don’t see why a little violence at the Mexico/U.S. border wouldn’t send them somewhere else. Turn Americans loose at the border. We can handle this.
Of course it wasn’t...and most of them were probably lied to by whatsoever operation (probably Soros connected) put this together to get all these people gathered up. This is messed up - most of these people are being used, yet the media will portray it was “Trump’s fault”, “Republicans’ fault”, etc.
Here’s one of the culprits, I haven’t researched who funds them.

We are hungry!”
Go tell it to Soros.
Democrats, Soros, probably.
Oh, yeah, no doubt.
Proceed with Plan Alpha. All invaders must be eliminated.
Yes, this is organized and political. But the problem is, they are invading on a daily basis. As many as there are in this caravan, cross over every 4 days. In just one sector in south Texas, an average of 640 cross every day. They know they will get a court date in a few years, are set free and then disappear.
How about a criminal check? Screening for TB? Check for current Violent Gang members. No?
Oh, Mexico wants to 'appear' to handle it, so Mexico won't be blamed.
