Ambassador Nikki Haley used the threat of a U.S. invasion of North Korea to secure a new round of sanctions against the regime last year, according to a new report.
Harpers Magazine reported that Haley raised the possibility of a U.S. invasion by telling a Chinese diplomat, My boss is kind of unpredictable, and I dont know what hell do."
Haley recalled making those comments during remarks at a small gathering of people at the Council for National Policy, and as part of her effort to discourage China from vetoing additional oil sanctions on North Korea last September, following the regimes detonation of a nuclear bomb. Her remarks shed light on how the prospect of a U.S. strike on the Korean Peninsula helped broker a compromise between Haleys initial call for a total oil embargo of the regime and the more modest cut the Security Council eventually passed.
I tell the president, I do this all the time, Haley said. And he totally gets it.(continued)

I guess the press has never heard of the “Mutt and Jeff” routine.
Fake news. She didn’t say it or even imply it. Nor did she say he was unpredictable. That’s my belief at any rate.
“Good cop/Bad cop”
We don’t have the manpower to invade NK. It would be a stupid move, anyway.
Back in the day Nixon and Kissinger supposedly had a similar act. Nixon was seen as unpredictable and Kissinger would be sympathetic and assure people this was the best deal they’d possibly get.
Trump knows how to win. He learned negotiations in real estate where your classic hardball types, maybe even Mafia at some point through unions, had to be dealt with. He probably appreciates that one scene from Back To School where Rodney Dangerfield tries to school his professor about the realities of setting up a business in the big city and concludes that the people you’ll have to deal with aren’t the boyscouts.
Always keep the enemy off balance. Trump is a master.
Whatever she said or didn’t say Trump seems to be very happy with the job she has done.
I suspect they worked closely together on foreign policy matters.
Good cop bad cop!
Absolutely love the idea of threatening despotic tyrants with crazy Trump! Media all believe it so theyd back that one up in a heartbeat, he he he!!!
That is a bovine scat headline.
And Ike hinted that he might nuke N. Korea-always keep them guessing!
You beat me to it. Sounds like Nixon at his best.
We may not have the *man* power but we most assuredly have the *fire* power. And yes, invasion would be very risky indeed...and dangerous for South Korea and Japan.
Are they really that stupid? And fake? Yes, to both.
Its called the Mad Man Strategy, not anything new.

Unless they restarted the lines, B Clinton had them all disassembled ... they no longer exist. China has the only known working and tested neutron nuclear bombs.
A good tag team is hard to come by.
It requires people you can trust and who know the drill.
Nixon had one in Kissinger.
Trump seems saddled with people he can’t trust ... but is he really? That could be part of the game ... and if you’re into Q is.
When I talk about people he seems to not be able to trust but really can I’m not saying I believe in something as directed and covert as Q Anon is happening and I’m certainly not talking about the deep state weasels who are relative to Trump what the McGovernites were once to Carter (Carter wasn’t up to the game the way Nixon was, but what he might have achieved as the last push back of the old Democrats from before LBJ and McGovern ... before many finally left for the RNC with Reagan ... was curtailed by the very sort of people who now ARE the DNC, the sort of people the anticommunists were fighting to prevent, who he could never trust and who could never be trusted and should never be trusted).
