Late Show host Stephen Colbert described President Donald Trump’s jokes about Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as a “racist tirade” amid the ongoing drama over her supposed American Indian ancestry. On Tuesday, Warren released test results indicating that she had a maximum of 1.6 percent “Mesoamerican” heritage, which is far below the minimum requirement to claim membership of most Native American tribes.
“After years of mocking Elizabeth Warren, clearly the President must have had a lot to say about these test results,” Colbert said, before playing a clip of Trump saying he did not care about the test results.
“You care! You’re literally the only person who cares,” he exclaimed. “In fact, you cared so much, you once offered a million dollars to charity if Senator Warren proves she is part Native American, a fact reporters reminded you of today.”
Stephen Colbert went on to show a clip of Trump suggesting that “Pocahontas” (his nickname for Warren) take an ancestry DNA test, which he said must be done “very gently” to appease the Me Too generation.
“Trump went out of his way to stuff a Me Too joke into the middle of his racist tirade,” Colbert said. “It’s like he’s making a turducken that’s just all turd.”
On Monday evening, Warren launched a bizarre Twitter rant in defense of her decision, which many claimed was another indication of her desire to challenge Trump as the Democratic nominee for the presidency in 2020.

And another thing, surely a professional comic and social critic (even if only self-appointed) could find some large amount of humor in the pathetic attempts of a white liberal woman to nail down exactly what small percentage of her ancestry is Cherokee? Is it one per cent, or a tenth of one per cent? An anxious nation awaits the exact number with such important decisions to make. I would also like to know how Mitt Romney did in tenth grade math.
Colbert is a piece of obama. Not in the slightest funny.

The more liberal he showed, the less I tuned in. All the way to zero.
I say the same thing about Conan O’Brien. Haven’t watched him in a decade (or more).
Yeah, he’s awful.
I refuse to watch any of them, they are all bad.
I watch, when I think of it, Johnny Carson re-runs on ME TV, still funny after all these years and better guests, more to point no PC or Politics.
I point at Colbert and laugh.

You mean, “a white person, accusing another white person, of racism for condemning still another white person of lying about being a minority.
Where does the madness end.
If anyone should be incensed by this debacle, it would be African Americans, as Warren (a white person) has unlawfully abused the Federal program of “Affirmative Action” for ill gotten gains. It unfairly casts dispersion on the spirit and execution of the program for someone who is genetically UNqualified.
Colbert, like the rest of the current crop of late-night TV hosts, maintains rent-free space in their heads for Trump, an obsession they cannot shake.
These program should be called News/Opinion shows, not “Entertainment”.
They all certainly showed their stripes, in the end.
Yes, Johnny was a class act, by far, compared to them.
