President Trump on Tuesday referred to the pornographic film actress Stephanie Clifford as “Horseface” in a Twitter post, as he gloated about a recent court ruling in his favor.
In his tweet, Mr. Trump was referring to a federal judge’s decision to dismiss a defamation suit filed by Ms. Clifford, who is known professionally as Stormy Daniels. The judge also ordered Ms. Clifford to pay the president’s related legal fees.
The president’s use of the term “horseface” was jarring, even though he has previously used similar disparaging language to describe women who challenge him. But it could also prove problematic for Republicans facing female opponents in the upcoming midterm elections, now just weeks away.
Ms. Clifford’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, fired back on Twitter, calling the president a “disgusting misogynist and an embarrassment to the United States.”

You’ve been here less than a week and decided to weigh in on Trump’s so-called rudeness. I don’t trust newbies. Especially newbies who start out with criticisms of the best president since Reagan. Deal with it.
Why on earth do people think that voters are going to be drawn to a “victim” that is a porn slut, who is on hundreds of films doing just about everything it is possible to do sexually in a very graphic and extremely lewd manner...and then for giggles and money does live stripping to wag her surgically-enhanced assets in men’s faces. And she openly tries to extort money from him by wrongfully claiming he had sex with her - a little Blasey-Fordish there.
What about this person is sympathetic? What about this person is something that normal women will identify with and as a result change their vote?
I suspect he could call her a lot worse that “horseface” and she’d still elicit no sympathy whatsoever from average voting women. Given who she is and what she does, “horseface” is being super-nice to her.
He’s been saying these sorts of thing for 3 years now, and it hasn’t cost him yet. Whether you personally like or don’t like these comments is a separate issue from whether they will hurt him. If the past is any indication, this won’t.
