Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page said Monday that he has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee over a dossier that alleges ties between Page and Russia.
Page said on Fox News's "Hannity" that his lawsuit "goes beyond any damages or any financial aspects."
"There have been so many lies as you’re alluding to and you look at the damage it did to our Democratic systems and our institutions of government back in 2016. And I’m just trying to get some justice," he said.
Page's lawsuit is against both the DNC and its law firm, Perkins Coie, as well as a few of the firm's partners, he said on "Hannity."
The lawsuit concerns a controversial dossier compiled by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele. The dossier was first funded by Republicans seeking opposition research on Trump and later by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Convention.
That dossier alleges ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, though much of the information has not been verified and has been dismissed by Trump and Republicans.
Page's name appears multiple times in the dossier, which alleges that Page communicated with Russians during the 2016 campaign.
Good. Someone finally talked him into it. He may also have a case against the FBI.

Quite some time back, Joe DiGenova predicted Carter Page was going to be a very rich man after suing all the defamers. He’s not a public figure, so it should be a go. He is was also a successful businessman so the judgements should be considerable. Severe recklessness and malice are evident in the smear, which will increase the damages. I hope he sues the pants off the DNC, the media, and the individual government actors.
