Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page said Monday that he has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee over a dossier that alleges ties between Page and Russia.
Page said on Fox News's "Hannity" that his lawsuit "goes beyond any damages or any financial aspects."
"There have been so many lies as you’re alluding to and you look at the damage it did to our Democratic systems and our institutions of government back in 2016. And I’m just trying to get some justice," he said.
Page's lawsuit is against both the DNC and its law firm, Perkins Coie, as well as a few of the firm's partners, he said on "Hannity."
The lawsuit concerns a controversial dossier compiled by former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele. The dossier was first funded by Republicans seeking opposition research on Trump and later by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Convention.
That dossier alleges ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, though much of the information has not been verified and has been dismissed by Trump and Republicans.
Page's name appears multiple times in the dossier, which alleges that Page communicated with Russians during the 2016 campaign.
Boom.
If a court allows this to go forward, DISCOVERY could blow open the DNC, Hillary, Steele, Coie-Perkins, Fusion GPS (and all contract employees), and any newspaper contacts they had.

Suing the Democrats for character assassination is akin to legislating against mosquitoes for biting people. Its just what they inherently do. You don’t sue them, you swat them.
I bet at this point Carter Page is never alone...he has no choice but to go forward. at this point if those involved are not brought down he is a dead man walking. carter page is one of many loose ends. in the past I believe he would of conveniently died but Hillary lost and no longer can stop investigations into murder so less likely to use it at the moment

I hope he’s able to get the judge to approve extensive discovery. I had been wondering why he wasn’t pursuing his legal options, but evidently he simply waited until he felt the time was right. Maybe amassed enough publicly available info for his legal team to know where all the rocks to turn over may be....
