Minnesota County Commissioner Pete Stauber leads former State Rep. Joe Radinovich (D-MN) by 15 points, according to a poll released on Monday.
Minnesota Republican Stauber leads Radinovich by 15 points49 to 34 percentin Minnesotas Eighth Congressional District. Thirteen percent of Minnesota voters remain undecided, and the margin of error is 4.6 percent, giving Stauber a comfortable lead over the Minnesota Democrat. The previous Times poll showed Radinovich leading by only one point, making the latest poll a 14-point growth towards the Minnesota Republican.
Breitbart News reported that MN-8 is one of the key congressional districts that Republicans must flip to help maintain their majority in the House of Representatives. Further, of the 65 must-win House races, four of them reside in Minnesota.
Minnesota could serve as another area where Republicans could gain stronger ground in future elections. The state nearly went for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election, though it had not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since Richard Nixon in 1972.
Breitbart Newss economics editor, John Carney, explained in June that President Trumps emphasis on American manufacturing and America First trade policies has revitalized Minnesotas Iron Range.
Staubers support continues to grow heading to the November midterms. The Duluth News Tribune endorsed Stauber for the congressional seat in an editorial on Sunday.
The Minnesota paper noted that Stauber has an impressive lifetime of public service and that no one can deny his unwavering devotion and commitment to us in Northeastern Minnesota.

Well look at you, actually posting something from a real source instead of Twitter.
Another RCP “tossup” they rated as Dem+1 that is now double digits in the other direction.
There will be a ‘Blue Wave’.
All those Dems waving bye-bye...............
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the district with Duluth and the Iron Range, right? Among other claims to fame, this is the home territory of mining unions, Bob Dylan and Gus Hall, longtime presidential candidate of Communist Party, U.S.A.
It does have Duluth in it... that’s about all I know.
I gathered as much by reading the article . . . so if the R has surged so much in a district of this nature, it gives me hope that Pennsylvania’s districts redrawn by the PA Supreme Court to flip what they promised would be 4-6 districts may come up short as well.
Yes, the 8th includes port city Duluth, the Iron Range, all the way down to the far northeast suburbs of the Twin Cities.
Thank you Colonel. The news just gets sweeter all the time.
The 8th is north east MN. Solid dark blue D area until recently.
You are correct
All those Dems waving bye-bye...............
Hence the coming "Red Wave."
You are welcome!
I looked at the information on the RCP tossup districts. PA 1 is trending GOP and PA 7 was trending Dim. The others are not listed in tossups. If I have time, I might take a look at the leaning.
Thanks! FWIW, I lived in the 7th in a previous life . . . NW Minnesota just west of the 8th. Largest city: Moorhead. It is home to possibly one of the last Blue Dog Dems in Congress . . . the first Democrat member of congress to call on Al Gore to throw in the towel after the 2000 election.
“...all the way down to the far northeast suburbs of the Twin Cities.”
Exactly. And those suburbs, just like the counties north of them (Mille Lacs, Pine, etc) are getting more GOP with each election cycle.
Duluth is pretty liberal but has a strong labor base that can be reached with the right kind of GOP candidate. Same with the Iron Range.
I had an old GF from the Range. Her parents were blue-blood Rangers - pro-life, pro-gun, anti-welfare, pro-mining. But they also voted for Dems. That’s been starting to change a bit even before Trump won the district in 2016.
The PA Supremes just HAD to divide Westmoreland County as we gave Trump a larger margin than did the enire Commonwealth of PA. They hate us for that reason.
If it helps, PA5 and PA6 are both leans DIM with zero polls.
This is what I love about Free Republic..... Informed people from all over the country who can give you detailed information about specific districts that others may not know anything about..... I have spent every election night since 2004 on Free Republic election threads, clicking refresh a thousand times, and getting up-to-the-minute, inside information from regular folks like you. This is absolutely the best thing about the internet, God bless!
