I thought it was Whiteout.
Thats right I forgot about him. Now the rappers also have...........nevermind.
Monkey, Mike Nesmith’s mother invented white out.
Michael Nesmith’s mom invented liquid paper, if I recall.
Velcro was a customer of mine at one time, they were very particular that you called it ‘hook and loop’.
I remember thinking, “You’re battling the tide here. It’s like asking people to refer to kleenex as tissue.”
I recall reading an article on Skunk years ago where a band mate was quoted as saying, “We’d all be sitting around reading playboy and penthouse and Skunk was reading Aviation Weekly”.
A couple of lengthy but interesting lectures on what he does.

There is one rapper who was pretty impressive. Blowlfy.
Now, Blowfly is/was one of the most offensive musicians ever, but he was hilarious, and talented.
He wrote a bunch of tunes for other folks, and was incredibly well read.
Living Color, the band, wasn’t rap, but whoever wrote ‘Cult of Personality’ wasn’t stupid either.
Not Velcro, whiteout (the white tape that we used to use to cover up typos when we used typewriters). I actually knew one of the guys who was an early investor in Velcro. He was a fellow student in my scuba diving class in Canada in the early eighties. He was learning how to dive because he was planning to buy a yatch, LOL.
Brian May's Red Special: The Story Of The Home-Made Guitar That Rocked Queen And The World
Brian made the famous red guitar.
"On 17 November 2007, May was appointed Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University,[138] and installed in 2008.[139] He held the post until 2013.[137] "
"During the New Horizons Pluto flyby NASA press conference held on 17 July 2015 at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, Brian May was introduced as a science team collaborator. He told the panel "You have inspired the world."[140][141] "
Tom Scholtz also built the electronic boards that produce the signature Boston guitar sound.
Yes, that is very fascinating. :)
I remember reading about this guy a year or so ago. Fascinating.
Adding to the growing list on this thread, here’s another guy (though not a classic rock musician) who went from musician/vocalist to scientist:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Perry_(Oregon_musician)
“Following the critical and commercial disappointment of 2000’s Soul Caddy, . . . Perry re-enrolled at the University of Oregon, pursuing an undergraduate degree in molecular biology, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science.”
They wrote a song about the bar.
I believe Baxter is the one who does the guitar solo on do it again I can listen to that 20 times in a row and not get tired of it. There’s a video on YouTube of some teenager from a few years ago he’s probably no longer a teenager nailing that solo almost better than Baxter did it. Love it. Baxter is probably very good in math and some musical Geniuses and math go hand-in-hand. My son is extraordinarily good in math and takes different calculuses and explains how to use them in making actual engineering calculations and differential equations multivariate statistics and figure things out on his own he’s quite good with steel pan/drums.
That was Michael’s mother.
I know a lot of bar playing level musicians. If I was on facebook I’d post this story as it would piss most of them off big time as it exploded their Lefty, “Man is holding me down” worldview.
Alas, I got off FB since it’s obvious Zuck will never make it secure as it wouldn’t be profitable if he did.
That is cool in a major way.
[Cult of Personality]
Always wondered if the band members figured out Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama and how he resembled that song.
The song accurately describes him at least 3 ways.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xxgRUyzgs0
1) Obama truly was a cult of personality.
2) Obama told people 1 + 1 makes 3 (in various ways).
3) Obama was given power in the name of God (look at the “messianic” idiocy surrounding him.
4) Neon Lights, Nobel Prize (which Obama won)
That’s correct. I let that one get by but had definitely noticed it before.
THANKS for the reminder!
I have the video up. Need to let it roll again.
..... Holland is also a licensed pilot and in November 2004, Holland actually completed a 10 day solo flight around the world ......
