‘The Conners’ minus fired Roseanne Barr is one risky prospect. We’ve got details on how ABC execs are afraid the show will fail without its longtime lead character.

Thanks to what Roseanne Barr calls a “misunderstood tweet” in May, she quickly was fired by ABC and the wildly successful revival of her 1990s sitcom was cancelled. The network thought her tweet about Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrettwas racist and within hours Roseanne was out of a job. Now the show is going on without her and the rest of the cast is coming back for The Conners. ABC execs are fearful it will be a flop without the program’s star and formerly title character. Sources tell DailyMailTV that it would have been far more prudent to give her a suspension rather than immediately terminate her. As a result, “The whisper across ABC is that they will not even be a quarter of what Roseanne achieved last season,” an insider tells DMTV.

They have a choice. They can forget the insane political correctness and hire her back. It is more than insane that we now have Democratic political mobs trying to intimidate, hurt and destroy the lives of people and Rosanne is fired for something she said which was totally in character for her as a comedienne.I think the reason has to do with the success of the show when she was on it and it was well known that she is a Trump supporter. Talk about "cutting off your nose to spite your face!"

Roseanne probably should haven’t made the tweet, but everything gets so blown out of proportion. Don’t we all put our foot in our mouth from time to time? Her explanation and apology was enough for me. She said it was a joke....that essentially fell flat. She’s not a racists. Come on.....she’s just a colorful woman....always has been.

This era we’re in....where an ill-timed joke....or even something stupid you did 10-15 years ago can destroy your whole career is just evil. I defend people on the left along this same line as well. Kathy Griffiths severed head thing with Donald Trump was stupid and offensive. But, it was ultimately just shtick that didn’t work. She apologized, regrets doing it.... That works for me.

Everyone needs to calm down. We all have political opinions. We all tell jokes that don’t work. We sometimes say over the top sarcastic things that come out more ‘mean-spirited’ than funny. Everyone needs to chill.

I hope they bring back Roseanne.
