Full title: Newt Gingrich: Here's a leader with a plan to genuinely control our southern border. He needs our support
When House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., introduced the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act he set the stage for a vital national debate on important questions.
Does our safety matter? Does the safety of our children matter? Does the safety of our neighborhoods and communities matter?
Every American should be grateful that McCarthy is boldly setting out a plan to genuinely control our southern border and provided the resources and organization needed. He has written a bill that he says the House will vote on in December.
When contrasted with the open borders bill of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. which every Democratic Senate incumbent has co-sponsored the choice between the two parties is clear.
Republicans will control the border. Democrats will throw the border wide open to anyone who wants to enter.
The American people can decide which future is safer and more desirable.
What will someday amaze historians is how so many of our politicians and members of our news media have simply ignored the facts and focused on politically inspired distortions.
It is a fact that El Salvadoran gangs like MS-13 and their imitators have become a major threat in many American cities and neighborhoods. These gangs like to use knives on their victims because they can inflict more pain and create more terror and they prefer torturing people rather than simply killing them.

Leopards can't change their spots.
McCarthy is a POS and GOPe to the core.
I wonder if McCarthy has seriously changed his tune now that Ryan is exiting.
He wants to be the new Boehner/Ryan
Agreed...at least that was my initial reaction...short-circuiting Jordan. But I remain hopeful that now he can be his “own man” he can correct course.
The slant I get is that McCarthy is playing us. He knows the bill doesn’t have a snowball’s chance of passing. It will pass the House, but never have a prayer in the Senate. FWIW.
But doesn’t passage in the house, call out the Senators who will be forced to post a vote ?
Jordan for Speaker.

THAT only matters IF the Senate actually votes on it BEFORE November 6th. Right?
Thanks jazusamo.
A new poll of GOP Voters is out, 18% prefer Jordan as Speaker to 8% for McCarthy, 16% for Scalise who isn’t running, and 45% undecided. Huge undecided (people that aren’t tuned in) but that’s interesting.
Unfortunately it’s members of Congress that will be making the choice, and McCarthy raises them a lot of money and has developed a good relationship with the President. I don’t like Jordan’s odds.
Agreed. McCarthy’s so slick I don’t credit him with being genuine or sincere on anything.
There are PAC radio ads running in the NYC area pitching a House GOP Majority — and repeatedly naming McCarthy.
I know the border patrol union pitched this design, but I have never known a union to advocate “killing” their job.
That design drives me crazy—far too easy to scale or to pass materials across. What we need, to start, is a smooth, actual double wall that tall that has a high-speed patrol road in between.
I assume Scalise was put into that poll to make the results look less bad for McCarthy.
That design IMO makes it easier for breeches. We’ve got plenty of tech that can ease surveillance without actually making it so easy to scale or pass contraband across.
Newt can’t help his own swampiness.
Republicans have had two years to control the border, but have approved and spent squat in that direction.
Running third behind a guy who said he isn’t running looks pretty bad.
Yeah, I saw that poll. Sorry for my limiting beliefs. Jordan has a shot. I was just responding to what seemed liked uncalled for criticism of Newt Gingrich’s support of the Build the Wall, Enforce the Border Act. It just sounds like some people would give up the wall just so they could have a more pure conservative for speaker. Can Jordan as Speaker get everyone to agree on the wall?
