Ive been to cuba several times with the ministry i run (evangelical churches are growing like crazy on the Island).

I have learned from my Cuban friends 2 things about Che:
1. They don't like him. There are Che pictures, quotes, and all sorts of Che nick knacks in the markets, but those are for the tourist.
2. The common belief is that Fidel tipped off the CIA to where Che was. The answer to why is a quote I've heard more than once, “the revolution only needs 1 live hero.” They believe Castro had Che killed to eliminate a rival and gain a martyr for propaganda purposes.

In this world a lot of people see stife, poverty, and the like, and try to do something to stop it. People like Ernesto Guevara use it all to just gain fame for themselves by saying they are revolutionaries. They are revolutionaries like him and Castro who murder innocents and grab money and wealth of other sorts for themselves. That is all they were, nothing more. To me, they were slobs, nothing more.

Whenever I hear the name Che Guevara, I always think how many ignorant Gen-Xers and Millennials there are out there who’ve put a tattoo of this mass murderer on themselves.
