Top ABC brass may have acted too swiftly by pulling the plug on Roseanne - and they now fear the show's replacement spin-off will flop without its star.
Two senior executives at the network have told DailyMailTV that firing the actress was a 'knee-jerk' reaction by ABC's president and admitted that temporarily suspending Barr may have been a wiser decision.
'We didn't think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong but we shouldn't have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have launched an investigation,' one insider said.
'This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision.'
The highly-anticipated reboot of the popular 90s sitcom was axed in May, just three months into its return after Barr, 65, made a racist tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

MTV did this show as a cartoon. It was called, “Daria”. Spitting characterization of Darlene Conner.
Im sure ABC was looking for excuse to drop her.
And obviously Barr’s comment, which was intentionally taken out of context was the excuse.

Roseanne on Last Man Standing as a recurring character? Excellent. What a coup that would be.
Roseanne had a very lengthy interview with Joe Rogan that was released yesterday. Roseanne continues to say that it was the ambien along with a beer or two. Rogan verified that ambien does very weird things to people and gave anecdotes of his friends doing the most out of character things will under the influence of ambien...
I thought goodman was somewhat sympathetic to rosanne in the aftermath (could be mistaken,dunno).
Here is a possibility that leaves everyhing open:
Introduce rosanne by herself as a new heighbor on fox last man standing under a different name. For full effect, begin by only showing eyes and above, behind a fence. Tim: hi new neighbor! ... hey you look a bit familiar, have i seen you before? Etc.
Backstory: rosanne witnessed a bank robbery in her uber job and her death had to be faked in irder for her to enter a witness protection program. Shes got a new entity courtesy of the fed govt. she cant go back to her old family...
But gradually over time her old family can be given a choice to leave their old identity, take a new identity and join her. I expect only goodman would do so since most of the others burned their bridges, but in theory anyone could cross iver.
After a while, spin off the new series under her witness protection program name, with whichever cast members choose to cross over. The new series can have endless fun with continuous digs and sly references to the old seies.
In a plot twist Roseanne returns as a ghost to haunt the family house.

2 Seperate shows with a little crossover between

I kind of like that idea.
And Rosanne will have her own show on another network and it will be a roaring success.
Cancel The Connors and bring her back. Problem solved.
The actors on that show are not pretty to look at either.
No amount of botox and soft focusing will fix that.
Would love to see the “All Brain Cancer” network crash and burn along with “Nothing But Communists”, Colin Nether-region Network, “Mostly Socialist Narcissist Babbling Comrades”, “Communist Bull S***” networks.
