Consider it is Georgia, and the white folk have not moved up in processing things. I remember being the only white sitting in a mall, and I too felt uneasy. Being white, and having a mixed marriage as a daughter, and a full black little girl, we get some stares. I was moved deeply in East Dallas in a negro neighborhood and an older lady spoke to me when leaving the restaurant. THANKS FOR TAKING CARE OF THE WORLD. We really ARE our brothers keepers. I have a very blended family, Filipinos, Hispanic, Black and Asian.
There are many viral videos these days of people claiming discrimination in videotaped incidents. Usually, the real story is that someone was just a busybody and race probably wasn’t a factor at all.
However, in this incident, the man makes a valid point. As someone stated above, he should’ve called 911 and reported a stalker.
It’s not about Georgia, though. Here in the Northeast, when out and around with my own children (half-black), sometimes people would question if/why I was with “these kids.” I was amused, but never offended.
However, I once knew a parent (white) who had the police called on him when he was out with his children (half-Filipino). Not sure whether race was a factor, but you never know.
There were a few times I should’ve called the police on people with kids in public. One incident in particular I wonder about to this day.
