Washington, DC - - Lyft just made a splashy hire as it focuses on working more closely with governments.
Anthony Foxx, former President Obama's secretary of the Department of Transportation from 2013-2017, will serve as Lyft's chief policy officer and advisor to its co-founders.
Foxx's move speaks to the increasingly central role tech companies play in transportation. He is the first former transportation secretary to join a Silicon Valley startup.
Foxx joined Lyft because he is drawn to the company's mission and values, he said in a statement Tuesday.

They also hired Valarie Jarrett. I erased them from my phone.
Never used that service and definitely never will.
Hard times, eh? This clown should consider himself fortunate that Lyft gave him a job.
Jarrett is driving for them too?
Your Mission: Figure out how we can use your connections in the government to gum-up the works for Uber.
Lyft drivers are now making below the minimum wage and putting incredible wear on their vehicles to boot.
Did the Obamas actually help Netflix?
How to avoid paying taxes and following the regulations that other commercial drivers/vehicles have to follow?

“Foxx joined Lyft because he is drawn to the company’s mission and values...”
Buy stocks in forks! They’re done!
From my connections here in L.A. and at Netflix, he doesn’t do jack sh*t.

Made me cancel my 7 year old subscription.
So he can “Lyft” your wallet. :)
There’s Lyft’s problem right there
I couldnt find a hotel room for an upcoming business trip. I registered with AIRbnb and Uber.
Told my kids I feel so millennial.
Hopefully it works out.
“Outreach to Muslims?”
“Jarrett is driving for them too?”
If I recall, they made her a director. There was a time when Hillary Clinton was on several corporate boards that I owned stock in. As far as I could determine, she had never attended a meeting, despite being paid a yearly salary ranging from $50,000 t0 $100,000. I asked a VP of a company I worked for why they had, if I recall, Dukakis, on their board. He said, something along the line of, “We get sued all the time by nutcase lefties. We keep a highly visible Democrat on so we can have him call the people and redirect them to attack somebody else. A call from somebody really famous in the left’s circle usually does the trick.” So, in a word, it’s a protection racket.
Here is an article on famous politicians making big bucks on corporate boards.

I have to admit I was using lyft because they kept throwing coupons at me that make them far cheaper than uber.
Anyone else get these a lot?
Thanks to this, I will not be having anything to do with these Lyft-wing radicals.
All I get is a mailbox full of SPAM begging me to drive for them. No thanks.
