Hillary Clinton draws contrast between sexual misconduct accusations against Trump, Bill Clinton

Hillary Clinton is drawing a contrast between the sexual misconduct allegations against her husband, former President Clinton, and those leveled against President Trump.

In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, said the main difference between the allegations is that there was an investigation led by Republicans into the claims against her husband, while Clinton said there has been no serious investigation of Trump.

"There's a very significant difference, and that is the intense, long-lasting, partisan investigation that was conducted in the '90s," Clinton said.

"If the Republicans, starting with President Trump on down, want a comparison, they should welcome such an investigation themselves," she added.

The allegations of rape and assault against Bill Clinton, which the former president has denied, received new scrutiny during the 2016 campaign. Days after the "Access Hollywood" tape of Trump talking about grabbing the genitals of women was released, the Republican candidate brought several women who have made claims against Bill Clinton to the second presidential debate.

More scrutiny for both Bill Clinton and Trump has come in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

Bill and Hillary Clinton on Monday announced that they going on a a 13-city tour over the next year to host conservations about politics and current events.

Clinton during the CNN interview said Bill during the tour will be discussing the challenges he faced as president.

Clinton was impeached after lying under oath about having a consensual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, who was then a White House intern. He has been accused by four women of nonconsensual sexual interactions.

Trump has faced allegations of unwanted groping and kissing from more than a dozen women since he came into office. He has denied the allegations.

Remember the secret room in the basement where all the info on BClintons assault investigation & crimes was locked in. The Congress persons were told to go down privately to peruse them. Only a few went down. Maybe it was only one or two dems went to see it. I haven’t heard anything about that locked room since. They said at time it was very bad stuff.

She is kind of crazy. There was absolutely NO republican investigation into the sexual misconduct and rape charges against her husband.

THe main investigation was Whitewater, which was about influence peddling.

During that investigation, there was a brief foray into whether Bill Clinton lied under oath in a civil proceeding. He did, and was fined and disbarred, and that became the basis for impeachment, as his lies under oath took place WHILE he was President, and had to do with actions he took AS president.

Of course, the big difference is that Bill Clinton was credibly accused of both rape and physical sexual assault, by multiple women, in some cases taking place in the very recent past.

At this point, there has been no real evidence presented by any woman claiming Trump behaved inappropriately. The complaints are all at the level of inappropriate touching; the “most serious” complaint is some woman who claims that back in 1980 she was on an airplane and Trump sat next to her and reached into her clothing and fondled her — a story which seems rather far-fetched, as the simplest of shrieks would bring multiple eyes to bear; she was essentially claiming she was assaulted with 100 witnesses who noticed nothing. SHe also couldn’t identify the date, the plane, or her starting point or destination, so it was impossible to answer the complaint.
