Come on. Indigenous people absolutely were there for thousands of years before Columbus or African explorers like Stanley. And they really did do mostly nothing of note except make pots and arrowheads. Well, in South America they did some pretty big building, mostly centered around taking their development of mass human sacrifice to the highest levels. In fact westerners probably didn’t match their mass murder skills until the 20th century.

post #11 in this thread to shed some light on my response. Columbus brought western ideas to what amounted to a vast expanse of nothing. His landing in the Bahamas might have been an accident, but it was provident enough to grant him his own day.
