Trump knows how to keep a storyline going and how to make it Topic One for the MSM. They still haven't figured out when he's stirring the pot, trolling, or playing "any publicity is good publicity." They fall for it every time, devoting segment after segment and chyron after chyron to teeth-gnashing and "fact checking" and outrage competitions, broadcasting and amplifying his message with every action.
Tonight they're agonizing over his tweet that the Kavanaugh accusations were all "a Democratic hoax." Whether by design or not, that's kept Democratic treachery on the front burner instead of Now Resuming Our Regular Programming of "Russia! Russia! Russia!"
