Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz leads Democrat challenger Beto ORourke 50 to 44 in a CBS YouGov poll conducted October 2-5. The survey of 1,031 registered and likely Texas voters released Sunday showed Cruz with a six point lead over ORourke in the more recent CBS battleground tracker poll.
Democrat voters were motivated to vote out of opposition to President Donald Trump while Republican voters indicated their vote for U.S. Senate is motivated out of support for President Trump, according to CBS.
Respondents supporting Cruz indicated a greater draw to his issue stances than personal qualities while ORourke supporters relatively evenly supported him on issues and personal qualities.

He'd have to win first. Losing doesn't enhance your resume. Unless you're Mitt Romney.
And he's the wrong skin color and gender for that run for President as a Democrat.
Thank God!
But the spin will be that he came close in “Deep Red Texas”.
I am really curious about the House races. The Senate races all seem to be moving towards the Republicans at this point, yet there is still all this talk about a blue wave.
I really don’t see a scenario where Democrats lose 3-5 seats in the Senate and there is simultaneously a blue wave.
A CBS poll no less.
Except he won’t come close.
If the extreme leftist media is owning up to this then you know it’s at least double that.
Beto picked his own nickname.
WTH is up with that?
Oh, I get it.
Just call me Pepino
House and Senate have different dynamics - very different dynamics this year. I don’t think one can compare the two houses.
Yougov is one of the better polls. Better methods than Ras, which calls zero cell numbers, only landlines.
Hoooooo-haaaaaa.
The Cuckold Beta Being beaten down like the feeble man boy he is!
Cruz is ahead by at least 10%.
**************
I don’t know the actual percentage but Cruz will win. This is a statewide
race for Governor on down this election. The people of Texas aren’t
going to vote for GOP for their state gov’t and then vote democrat in
the Senator race. Beto will win the Rio Grande counties, some of South
Texas, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin. But statewide the GOP will win.
I’d be surprised if he won more than 25 out of 254 counties in Texas
CBS-YOUGOV.
Gonna have to hit the Cruz site and pop a few more bucks his way...
Possibly 50 percent of residents in Austin have “Beto” signs in their yards. Haven’t seen any Cruz signs; the rural counties and middle-sized cities better come out at 100 percent to save Cruz.
Veto Beto.

LOL!
I think Beto is convinced he will indeed win in TX.
You think Texas is going to vote Dem in the Statewide races?
You left off El Paso and suburban support in the large cities.
I could see at least two of the Democrat candidates winning. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Atty. Gen. Bill Paxton may be vulnerable. And Cruz is at the top of the ballot, not Abbott.
