Tropical Storm Mitchell: The NHC has issued a Public Advisory Update indicating Tropical Storm Mitchell has formed about 90 miles South of Cozumel, Mexico. Current forecast predicts Mitchell will reach hurricane strength in the Gulf of Mexico before making landfall in the Northern GOM. Landfall is estimated by 96 hours.

We are getting some rain and wind but nothing much to worry about so far,tortugas gusts to near 30 knots sustained at 15-20 ese baro 29.89 dropping,they will get some effects but 130 miles east where we are not so much.

82 at Tortugas air no water info. I wish private enterprise could take over these NOAA buoys. NOAA does such a lousy job.Even if private enterprise was to install buoy at all the places NOAA misses it would be a huge improvement.Half of our lighthouses down here have no weather info at all.

Storm name = Michael. I had Mitchell on the brain this morning.
Just call it “Fred”.

This is a fast moving storm and will be in and out during a 12 hr span.
Yes it will drop some water but not like Florence did. Wind want be
strong once it travels over land for along distance.
