Overwhelmingly positive in a venue dominated by lefties. DiFi and cohorts may have screwed the pooch this time!

I watched the whole speech. It was a great “speech”!
I think it may convince some more Democrats to vote yes.
I hope it doesn’t cause Republicans to vote no and I hope that Kavanaugh ISN’T who Collins thinks he is.
Ive said this before.
The Kavanaugh hearings will be remembered as the 2018 version of the Paul Wellstone memorial.
If Dems had ANY sense they'd quit listening to themselves and what they think and start listening to the real American population. Otherwise, they'll find themselves so marginalized, all their cheating, pandering, and partisan reporting won't get them elected, no matter what they do.
Ask Hillary.
oh but they’re much smarter than us and therefor should run our affairs for us /s
Democrats won’t understand Collins’ speech at all. Not a word of it. It was all presented and supported with waaaaayyyy too much logic. Almost no emotion. From the standpoint of leftist understanding, she might as well have given it in a foreign language.
If you look at the ratio of upvotes to downvoted its nearly 11 to 1. Wouldnt it be something the GOP gain/loss ratio was that high? The Democrats would be destroyed.
I don't think that's the way to bet.

Whoever her staffer was who wrote it deserves to be commended.
If you look at up and down votes, it’s clear that the left is not looking to watch Collins’ speech yet this morning. They’re probably all so depressed right now that the ones who actually survived yesterday’s developments are still drunk or massively hung over.
Despite my overall unfavorable view of Collins’ wishy-washy Republican past, in this instance she was superb. I do not know who wrote that speech, but it was historically significant. It was well organized and very focused on all the relevant issues. She did a good job delivering it too. There is nothing positive to be said about Manchin who hid behind Collins and then slunk out from behind her to announce his position. I hope the WV folks finally see the weasel for what he is.
I hope that Kavanaugh ISNT who Collins thinks he is.
Quoting the 95% rate that he and Merrick Garland voted the same when on the same DC Court of appeals....Obamas pick!
I’d like to know whose idea it was to let Collins deliver the knockout blow?
If it was McConnell, all I have to say is, “McConnell, you magnificent bastard!”
I did not see vast numbers of anti Kavanaugh protesters at the Capital.
Just screaming, fist waving women and an occasional bewildered looking male.
But not what I consider well attended.
It’s always a crapshoot when it comes to Supreme Court justices.
My hope is that what Kavanaugh has experienced has opened his eyes as to the ways of the Left.
It was a good speech. But when you’re one of 100 people who are elected to the most exclusive club in the world, you’re supposed to be able to give good speeches. And to analyze with thought, reason, logic, and intelligence.
Good job, Senator Collins. But let’s just remember this is the standard, which sadly has become so diminished that it seems like something special when someone rises to meet it.
I did too. She was very eloquent and she made several good points.
I’m troubled by Collins feeling that Kavanaugh basically guaranteed that he wouldn’t vote to overturn Roe.
Anyone have a take on what Kavanaugh actually said in this regard and how and why he would actually vote if given a chance to overturn Roe v Wade?
DiFi and her co-conspirators in this Goebbels Nazi Big Lie smear job against Judge Kavanaugh.....
have screwed the pooch, yes, politically speaking for the Nazi-Commie D party
really bad.
but they’re not done.
They will accuse Judge Kavanaugh of screwing his family’s pet poodle ...now, before the vote
plus, of course, the inevitable farm animals
The D’s are not done with their Nazi style smear campaign.
