I am beginning to wonder (doubt?) why wonderful people would risk their life to protect the half of the people in this country who hate them.

Well, when I was on active duty and anyone asked me why I stayed in the Air Force, I always replied, "The job has to be done, and I don't see anyone in line behind me." I guess there are others now who feel the same way.
