Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy (R) lamented the battle over Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination in an interview Friday night, asserting that neither Kavanaugh nor one of his accusers, Christine Blasey Ford, would come out as "winners" following Saturday's vote on his confirmation.
Ford has alleged along with two other women that Kavanaugh engaged in sexual assault during his high school and college years during periods of heavy drinking, allegations which Kavanaugh has denied.
Kennedy told Fox News that no matter the outcome of Saturday's vote, which it appears will be in Kavanaugh's favor, the process was so tainted that neither accused nor accuser could be vindicated in the end.
"There are no winners," Kennedy said Friday. "I'll bet you this time...tomorrow night Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed and I'm very pleased. [But] he won't feel like a winner."
The Louisiana Republican and Senate Judiciary Committee member blamed the panel's ranking Democrat, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), for keeping Ford's allegations under wraps, which Feinstein has maintained was done to protect Ford's request for anonymity, for tainting the process.
"I bet Dr. Ford and her family will not feel like a winner. And it all could have been avoided, if Sen. Feinstein had just turned over Dr. Ford's anonymous note...to us," Kennedy said. "We could have investigated without the intergalactic freak show."

— Fox News (@FoxNews) October 5, 2018 Kavanaugh is expected to be confirmed following Saturday's vote, as key swing vote senators said in statements this week that they plan to support his nomination, including Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), and Joe Manchin (D-W.V.).
Kennedy attacked Democrats on Thursday over the allegations facing Kavanaugh after the publication of the FBI's supplemental background investigation, telling reporters that some parts of the report "make me angry" without explaining further.
"Let me say that again: I really wish you could read this report. There are things in here that really make me angry,” he said Thursday after viewing the report.
"Anybody who thinks politics isn’t involved in this ought to put down the bong.”
Kavanaugh will be battered and bruised and will continue to be harassed during his appointment but he will be a Supreme Court justice.
Maybe winning will be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

I understand where he is coming from, but I think it’s best to let the individual speak for his own feelings rather than speaking for him.
Simple. Resign next June and have Trump reappoint him. Do it again with a clear majority.

That guy Kennedy is an odd duck.
It’s a travesty. This should’ve all happened months ago behind closed doors. They robbed Kavanaugh of the greatest moment of his life. I will say however that they do the same to Thomas and he has turned out to be an excellent SCOTUS judge, moreso than several other Republican appointees.

I get what he is saying because I feel the same way. the Dems alway ruin everything when they lose. When Trump won they made sure they mucked up his night with that old hag Hillary not conceding and then the lawsuits and the stupid protests . He should have had a wonderful night but they muck it up.
Same thing with Kavanaugh he has worked so hard to get where he is and here he is going to be Supreme Court Judge and the dems are mucking it up with protests, smears and lies. So I understand what Kennedy is saying.
