I do not believe Ford was ever assaulted let alone by Kavanaugh. I do think she is an overwrought activist nut who deleted her social network footprint outlining her activism before trying to stop his nomination by falsely accusing him of assault anonymously. But she did not count on the dems leaking her name and having to go all in by testifying.The great thing about not being a politician is that you can say what you truly believe despite the sloganeering narratives of the MeToo movement. There are women who are truthful and women who have been assaulted. Slimebag Ford is just not one of them.
The Dems thought the pressure they were bringing would be enough to (1) Have Kavanaugh withdraw and leave or (2) Have Trump pull Kavanaugh’s nomination. The problem they didn’t anticipate was Kavanaugh and Trump called their bluff.
Their testimony was very carefully crafted to be plausible but have enough wiggle room to avoid perjury. Not remembering specifics, phrases that added ambiguity to statements or qualified them to be less than certain.
But it all relied on what usually happens; Republicans get squishy, get cold feet, lose confidence, and slink away.
Not this time.
