They like FREE SH*T. And she excels in using leverage in these situations to bring it to them.

Keep in mind that Murkowski was appointed to her Senate seat by her dad who had previously held the seat. She lost in 2010 in the primaries to a Tea Party guy, Joe Miller, but ran as a write-in candidate in the general election and won.
Apparently, she views the seat as part of her patrimony and sadly, too many Alaskans are ok with that.
