Believe me, I know. I live near West Virginia, and despite their professed Conservative leanings they LOOOOOOOOVED having Robert C. Byrd in the Senate to build all kinds of fancy things for them with other people’s money.
Some of them bear plaques bragging about how no West Virginia money was spent on them.
Same with Murkowski.
There will probably be a horrific mass shooting in the next 30 hours. This is a very real possibility with these evil people.

I did not know that James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, John Adams, and the other members of the Constitution Convention of 1787 were "scum." FYI, Art I, §6, ¶1 of the United States Constitution provides as follows:
"The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States.6 They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place." [Emphasis added.]
This provision, known as the "speech and debate clause," grants members of Congress both criminal and civil immunity for statements made during speeches and debates, no matter how egregious, false, or offensive the statement.
And those two things are EXACTLY what their disgusting treatment and abuse of this decent man was about.

I think unfortunately one of the unintended consequences of this is that women are going to have a much more difficult time running for the Senate.
America can plainly see that a good man’s reputation had been mugged. If women in the Senate are enablers for that, people are going to quit electing women to the Senate.
