Charles Ludington, Lynne Brookes and Elizabeth Swisher attended Yale University from 1983 to 1987 with Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh.
We were college classmates and drinking buddies with Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh. In the past week, all three of us decided separately to respond to questions from the media regarding Bretts honesty, or lack thereof. In each of our cases, it was his public statements during a Fox News TV interview and his sworn testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee that prompted us to speak out.
We each asserted that Brett lied to the Senate by stating, under oath, that he never drank to the point of forgetting what he was doing. We said, unequivocally, that each of us, on numerous occasions, had seen Brett stumbling drunk to the point that it would be impossible for him to state with any degree of certainty that he remembered everything that he did when drunk.
Since coming forward, we each have received numerous angry messages accusing us of attempting to ruin a mans life because of his drunken antics as a college student. In fact, none of us condemned Brett for his frequent drunkenness. We drank too much in college as well. It is true that Brett acknowledged he sometimes drank too many beers. But he also stated that he never drank to the point of blacking out.
All of us went to Yale, whose motto is Lux et Veritas (Light and Truth). Brett also belonged to a Yale senior secret society called Truth and Courage. We believe that Brett neither tells the former nor embodies the latter. For this reason, we believe that Brett Kavanaugh should not sit on the nations highest court.

If you were Brett Kavanaughs drinking buddies then you don’t deserve employment either do you?
It’s so cool how a big important newspaper like WAPO will just publish some opinions of random citizens.
I think I’ll write up some of my opinions and send it to them so they can print it. Should work, right?
Did he ever make a waitress sandwich?
WaPo? Fake news. Total lie. They make crap up all the time.
This is below tabloid journalism.
“Ill bet Kavanaugh never passes out at a State of the Union speech”
I agree with Lurkinanloomnin.
So beautiful.
so they cleaned her up a bit.....
so they cleaned her up a bit.....
And of course the Senate of the United States, the greatest deliberative body in the world, is going to decide this on unsubstantiated allegations of an obviously deeply troubled yet well-coached woman...AND some high school drinking buddies.
Ok, sure.
I despise any excessive drinking, but I believe he would be a good addition to the Court.
I never liked Kavanaugh from day one when I heard his name and was shown how he lied to discredit the eyewitness in the Foster case. I thought, uh oh, already beholden to the Clintons, do we really need another owned SC justice??!
But I didnt think he should not be confirmed because of sexual or drinking issues at 17. So Ive supported his nomination recently.
Now Im being honest, wondering if there is a character flaw dating back to college or Before. Does honesty belong to only the lesser people and not apply to his Ivy League self?
Is this a witch hunt or are they maybe onto something? I do not think Ford is credible. Never did, still dont. But this guy seems to have a continuing issue with alcohol. What else? Still, hes probably not the only SC justice like that.
[Liberals too, without a doubt.]
Yep, in one form or another.
Eye bleach! Where’s the eye bleach?
Booze is all the Dems have left. And you can bet they’re downing a lot of it themselves tonight.
Yeah, but what do the “beach friends “ have to say?
Seems that they have a witness, ready to testify that in '85, Kavanaugh was seen lighting an M-80 across the street from a hospital quiet zone.
This one could bring him down.
Well didnt Lincoln say he wanted to send a case of what ever it was Grant was drinking to all his Generals.
Like Abraham Lincoln said when someone complained that General Grant drank. “By all means find out what whiskey, and send some to all my generals!”
