They didn't interview Kavanaugh either. This is not a criminal investigation, it is a background investigation. Ford has provided written testimony as well as appearing before the Judiciary Committee for about two hours.

Usually, Ford's allegations would have been given confidentially to the Judiciary Committee, which would then task the FBI to investigate, including taking testimony from Ford and her witnesses. The results of the investigation would be discussed in a closed door session with the committee including confronting Kavanaugh with the allegations. Ford's identity would not be known publicly nor would she be required to appear personally before the committee.

Instead, Feinstein sat on the allegations for almost two months until the formal hearing was completed. It was then leaked to the media. This forced the committee to address the allegations publicly including interviewing Ford. It was pure politics.

The FBI doesn't need to interview Ford. The Judiciary committee already did that including allowing Ford to make her allegations known without any time limit. Her allegations were investigated by the Judiciary committee staff and Kavanaugh was asked to testify in private about them. The Dems did not even attend this closed door session. All of the committee members received transcripts of not only Kavanaugh, but also the signed statements under the risk of felony of the witnesses named by Ford who were at the event.

The question you should be asking is why is it necessary to interview Ford again?

I agree with you 100% As I noted, the entire exercise is an extravagant and nonsensical waste of time. NOBODY needs to be interviewed again, but thanks to Flake, here we are. My point is this: You must keep in mind that some 60% of voting age Americans cannot name the vice president. Therefore, if I were running this investigation, I would interview Ford and Kav again, because to NOT interview them is to give the dems an incredibly easy talking point. The most mentally disabled person on earth could have told you that failure to interview these two would have the dems screaming “Fake investigation! Fake investigation!” And this talking point is far more likely to have those clueless 60% I mentioned above scratching their heads, saying “Yeah. Why didn’t they talk to Ford and Kav?”

Every other attack the dems have mounted could be easily seen through by even those clueless 60%. This latest talking point, I fear, may gain some traction with the clueless.

Besides, interviewing Ford again gives her another perjury opportunity.
