CNN analyst and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (R) says that President Trump has a point when claiming that the accusations around Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh show it is a scary time for young men in the United States.
Santorum on Tuesday said on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" that while Trump "overstated the case," he believes "there is concern among some people that their sons or brothers may be accused of something."
"I actually see it as a very good teachable moment. Ive certainly used it for boys and said, Look, obviously this is behavior weve told you not to do, but there could be a situation where you put yourself in a position where you could be accused of something. And you dont want to do that. You want to be much more cautious,' " Santorum said.
"I dont see that as a scary moment whatsoever. I see that as an instructive moment," Santorum added.
Trump told reporters on the South Lawn at the White House on Wednesday that "it is a very scary time for young men in America, when you can be guilty of something you may not be guilty of."
He also claimed that Kavanaugh has been treated unfairly as multiple women have come forward publicly to accuse the nominee of sexual misconduct.
"It's a very scary situation where you're guilty until proven innocent," Trump said. "That is a very, very difficult standard."
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) disputed Trump's claim in her own appearance Tuesday on CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360."
That really flows from total mistrust of women," she said. "They must all think that we sit around making up stories about them. We have a few other things that wed like to do, such as getting on with our lives and making a living."
Hirono is a real garbage person.
“They must all think that we sit around making up stories about them.”
No, Senator. Most of us are not bigots like you, condemning an entire class of people for the alleged actions of a few.
“I dont see that as a scary moment whatsoever. I see that as an instructive moment,” Santorum added.

Well, Rick - you’re an idiot, then. Men should not have to live their lives in fear of being alone in the same room with some wack-job female who’s going to come out and accuse them of God-knows-what because she’s on her period that day and feels like destroying someone’s life. Particularly when the world has now been trained that to even question her story is mean and sexist and unacceptable.
So, yeah, Rick... that IS scary.
Is Santorum still wearing short pants or has he switched to Longies?
AMEN!!!!!!!!
The Hill always has the Left’s remark be the last remark.
There is a reason for that. They want to leave you with what they think you should be thinking.
And the HILL is not the only publication that does that.
Rick, get on the train, stop fighting it.
Many men that have gone through a divorce are well aware that women can be “selective” with regard to memory.
Even my attorney - a woman - referred to family court as “the court of lies.”
I got put through the ringer, but fortunately there were no children, so there weren’t any lies ...ahem ...”assertions” that wives and their attorneys make to give them a tactical advantage with regard to custody, visitation and child support.
Alimony? Well, couldn’t avoid that, but she remarried so “Woo Hoo!” Still working through the financial damage, but I’ll eventually succeed.
Guys, if you think your marriage is over (e.g. wife honking around with guys half her age), word to the wise - FILE FIRST so you can set the agenda and tempo of the case. Even so, expect to get bloody.
Always liked Santorum. My heart said 2012 was his time. Now he’s lost-looking for something to do.
Men are assumed guilty. Whites are assumed racist. Christians assumed islamophobe. Normal people are assumed homophobe.
This statement shows why Santorum does not have the smarts to win the nomination, much less the election to POTUS.
How about someone runs a survey asking how many men have been falsely accused of sexual discrimination, sexual assault, or some other flaw by a woman seeking to gain an advantage?
I’ll throw my experience in, I’ve been involved in at least four situations where the claims were proven false, and that doesn’t include my divorce. PDJT is correct, every man should be worried about guilty until proven innocent.
And the bias is overwhelmingly liberal.
It happens in every article in every news outlet.
The Hill, NYT, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, your local newspaper.
That would be a concern only if the man in question is conservative or republican. Anyone else get free pass
Where did they dig up Santorum from?
The behaviour is irrelevant when the accusation is the conviction.
We also need to teach young women that it is illegal and unsafe to get drunk when they party under 21.

An accurate summation of the times we live in.
