In a letter released last night from a former boyfriend of Christine Blasey-Ford, there was a name curiously not redacted. The name of Monica L McLean was revealed as a life-long friend who Ms. Ford helped with polygraph preparation.
The media has begun to focus on the letter as outlining a lie told by Ms. Ford during recent congressional testimony… But the backstory to Ms. Monica Lee McLean is an even bigger story.

I also wouldn’t be surprised, if the FBI is the final act on this smear campaign. There are just too many Trump haters in the FBI echelon & they will assign the field agents doing the investigation.
Once again the GOP has been played. They are cornered into letting the FBI open the floodgates, not their own investigators who they can trust to do an honest job. They are all excited about being told by the FBI that they will finish early. McConnell then is happy to announce a Friday vote.
Boom today or tomorrow, the FBI report that was supposed to be confidential is leaked to the MSM by the dems. The FBI has gathered all kinds of unsubstantiated stories about excessive drinking, sexual misconduct and it floods everywhere. Way too much to address. There are not enough votes, rather than give the FBI & the committee another 2 weeks to investigate all these new charges - Kavanaugh is asked to withdraw his nomination.
The tides have turned on this investigation. Kavanaugh will be confirmed and it will be a great day!

Prosecutor Mitchell obviously knew the answer before she asked it...the hallmark of a good prosecutor. I wonder who had done the research for her to uncover this before thehearing.

I dunno who gave her the heads up to ask that particular line of questioning, Could be someone other than the boyfriend heard about it and passed the info along.
But, yup, you got it - in court a good attorney never asks a question where he doesn’t already know the (true) answer. If a person perjures himself with a false answer, they’ve chosen to impeach their own testimony.
I've had a couple quite a few years back and both asked control questions to find baseline as you say. One even told me in advance to tell a lie about the color of a book on the table, but that was so he could show me that I would be caught out if I tried to purposefully lie. They were always yes/no responses.
It's interesting that the profile picture, the only one I can find on the web, is cropped so you can not see if it is McLean wearing the same large ring on her right hand? That would be pretty conclusive I think if she was wearing it while taking the poly for Dr Fraud.
That would be so good, bring in a top defense lawyer with experience in sexual assault cases, where the accuser was proven to be a liar

The test administered to her violates all professional protocols for polygraph tests. For example, see The Polygraph and Lie Detection, Appendix A, Polygraph Questioning Techniques. Look at the sections on Relevant/Irrelevant Questions and Comparison (Control) Questions.
A comparison/ control question is ALWAYS asked first. This was clearly not done.
I'm surprised that there is virtually no question being raised about this bogus polygraph test she was given. It's obvious that Jerry Hanafin (he gave the test) is complicit.
