During Brett Kavanaughs Senate testimony last week, Orrin Hatch asked the prospective Supreme Court justice, When did you first hear of Ms. Ramirezs allegations against you? Kavanaugh replied, In the last in the period since then, the New Yorker story. Hatch was referring to Deborah Ramirezs charge that Kavanaugh humiliated her by waving his penis in her face while she was intoxicated. Kavanaugh appeared to be saying he heard of the charges after they appeared in The New Yorker in September.
NBC reports that this, like many things Kavanaugh said in his testimony, is false. Kavanaughs friends gathered testimony attempting to refute Ramirezs allegations weeks before The New Yorkers story was published. Some of the witnesses were contacted by people working on Kavanaughs behalf as early as July, according to text messages one witness has shared with the FBI.
This demonstrates to a near-certainty that Kavanaugh knew about the incident weeks before the story came to light. It is possible he had somehow heard about false charges being circulated in advance, worked to refute them, and then misled the Senate about when he heard about them. An alternative, more direct explanation would be that he worked to refute the charge because he knew about it from having actually done what he was accused of.

Ramirez walked her story back. Now all he’s guilty of standing near a punch bowl.
That’s Swetnick. Can’t keep the false accusations straight without a scorecard.
the first time the full story was made public WAS through the New Yorker... before that friends had heard that Ramirez was calling people and asking questions to corroborate a belief she perhaps held.
Something must be wrong with my memory. I couldn’t name 20 people at a party from my college years. I’m 52, approximate age of all involved.
I could start naming sorority sisters but that would be just because I can remember them better. I can’t say definitively that they were at a particular party. Most parties, events I can recall, I can only remember 2-3 other people that were there.
These women are all liars. Time for hard background investigations of them. What is motivating them? Roe v Wade, anti Trump, far left history, Soros, money, are they attention Whores? What is it?
Yeah, realized that. Need that scoreboard.
He heard about it because of the NY Magazine article. He was asked about the accusations in the article before publication, as the subject generally is, and given a chance to refute, which he declined. But then he began getting ready to counter the scurrilous charges, as is his right. They are grasping at straws.
This particular story was published at 6:00 PM last night, it hasn't been posted on FR previously. Aspects of the Rameriz story obviously have been.
As I pointed out though THIS is the story that all the energy of the Enemedia is now focused on, and this New York Magazine (not New Yorker) story is the latest salvo in advancing their latest attempt to land the knock-out punch on Kavanaugh.
I agree with others here that the "perjury" charge is the latest. This is of-a-piece with all their other skulldrugery.
(I'm thinking of George Papodopolis sitting in jail for mis-stating the date of a meeting he had with someone who was, in fact, working for US Counter Intel. A total setup, of no accord. And: It put him in jail.)
So, while I am not a troll I am very concerned!
I've been waiting for a conservative court since I first became aware of the importance of the SC, predating my arrival at Free Republic 20 years ago next month.
And to be honest, I don't remember many parties. I know I went to some, they were usually mob scenes, and I almost always left soon after arriving. I would be guessing if I said who I was there with.
If a man at a party pulls out his member and shoves it in someones face, in a room full of people, that isn’t something that just ONE person is going to remember.
Dems can try all they like, they have nothing.. and know it.
Actually, the only thing that matters is the vote by the full Senate, assuming Kavanaugh doesn't withdraw before it takes place.
McConnell has promised it for this week, but he's reneged twice on the dates he promised the vote previously, so I don't put much stock in that.
You assume that the wavering GOP Senators (and maybe one or two Dems) will be swayed exclusively by the FBI investigation. I'm not as confident. If Jeff Flake can change his mind based on two hysterical tramps in an elevator then I think that " hearsay, rumor and accusation" are still very much a factor in this thing, and my tard friend is worth paying some attention to.
But I understand where you are coming from. I just don't think the weasels are that honorable or logical.
I don't know, these are liberals at Yale. That sort of think might be common there.
What is a Tard friend?
Sorry, but you can go to a SWINGERS party and something like that is going to be remembered... the idea this happened at a college party in the mid 80s and only or two people remember it?
FAT CHANCE.
“Not sure how that is countered”
What is there to counter? Didn’t she say they were playing strip poker?
Someone ended up naked during a strip poker game at college??? Oh no, the sky is falling!
What’s the problem - Obama never knew about anything until it came out in the news....wonder who leaked the info to Kavanaugh.
“Her story is bolstered by happening “at Yale”, meaning it’s far easier to place people at the scene of the crime. “
Is it? No one seemed to be able to place Obama at Columbia.
Also wonder if he actually knew the specifics of the charge or just that the rumor was one was coming...he had some friends who decided to try to get some facts...that doesn't mean he knew the specifics.
then why can’t you take one minute and search this site for the other threads on this exact same story that have been posted since yesterday with comments and links debunking it instead of posted yet another NEW thread about it?
Which has now been shortened to "Tards". Many discussions start off in the group with our oldest member baiting one of them "So, it looks like the Tards are going to try to ...."
Yeah, liberals, but still friends = Tard friends.
And, yeah, they know they are called Tards, probably don't like it, but it's just that way. I get my share of razzing on various other points.
